Technorati

Here is a website that I found off of Scott Keith’s blog that allows you to find out someone’s name on blogs and what people are talking about you. Its kind of funny. I typed in my name and I found the entire list of things that I have written in the last couple of days. Its also not all me, but anyone who uses a similar name. Crazy stuff. Here is the link.

Technorati is based on tags…so if you blog something and tag it, people can find the content easier. 🙂

I’ll check it out. Before I decide to start arguing about something I don’t know about let me read up on it, right. 😛

    🙂

Technorati is great for those running a blog that they want people to see…say, penguins. If you’ve posted about penguins and used the appropriate Technorati tags on your posts about penguins, someone could visit a Technorati page about penguins and see your content on there, as well as anyone else’s.

    If I understand it correctly.

I didn’t implement Technorati tags on my journal because I rarely talk about anything but my own life. I did install it on James’s blog, but I’m not sure if they currently work on his due to him switching themes and whatnot (will have to take a second look at the code sometime).

I didn’t even know that I did, but I saw my name on line and it was cool. How can you tell if you have it?

When I get back I’m going to talk to you more about buying the domain name Cosmelentertainment.com, you said you would be able to run it right?

Sure…setting up a web site isn’t hard to do at all.

Take a look at http://www.paulsolin.com , we set that up in an evening, for the most part.

You don’t have Technorati tags implemented here…note that on the web site you linked in the entry doesn’t contain anything you’ve written. Not sure if LiveJournal supports Technorati, but they do support their own tag system that you might have to pay for.

    hahaha

    that’s funny.

I thought I saw my own stuff in there. So now I’m a little confused myself. I believe that article that I stole this site from stated that now they can see who on livejournal is talking about what.

    Yes and no…

I’ll make it so that you can update it whenever you’d like. Much of the control will be in your hands.

If you need some sort of software installed, or just have an idea but need to know how to implement it…I’ll definitely do that. If you end up using WordPress (if it fits your needs), I’ll customize it as you like it. If something breaks, I’ll fix it…and if something needs an upgrade or an overhaul I’ll do it.

At some point, for the most part, you’ll be able to run it yourself, though (except for the upgrades and customization, that’s a little tricky). As a whole, it’s pretty simple.

cool, so you’d be the one helping me out, that’s good. is it almost like updating the blog to a certain extent

  9. flammable says:

    Sure, depending on the software.

And absolutely, the hosting and domain services only provide the servers and whatnot…and some support if necessary, but they won’t setup the site. That would be me. 😉

awesome, then when we get back I’ll start talking to you about it.

do you know anyone who could come up with a design for a production company name or anything like that. or could you do it yourself?

  11. flammable says:

sweet….well, i’m not really a designer. will give it some thought to see if i know anyone who does that stuff…not sure.
