Fox in Back to the Future 4?

No fucking way!

From IMDB.com:

Michael J. Fox is heading Back To The Future for a fourth time-traveling movie. The actor, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, admits he’s in negotiations for a final film in the series – but only if they make his character as old as he is in real life. The former Spin City star wants to take over Christopher Lloyd’s eccentric scientist character, Doc, in the sequel. He tells movie website Moviehole.net, “The only way it would work would be if I played Doc.

I’m 44-years-old now and I’m not interested in running around on skateboards! I think after 1, 2 and 3 we all kind of felt we had done it. And I think if they did it again now they would do it with a younger cast and just do a different realisation of it, which would be fun.”

Personally…don’t do it, don’t even think of doing this. The first trilogy is amazing, one of the reasons why I wanted to go to get a film degree in the first place and its been over ten years since the last one what would be the purpose of this trilogy and didn’t the last one explain nicely that dabbling in time travel is bad! Please don’t let this get off the ground, leave it alone, don’t ruin what is already perfect…

Agreed! I don’t know how they could make another one without screwing up the original trilogy.

Note that Spielberg is not mentioned…if they actually do this (and I hope they don’t), they need him.

Did you hear about Ghostbusters 3 (the script was titled “Ghostbusters In Hell”)? They scrapped that because even though Dan Ackroyd wanted to do it, Bill Murray said no (and you can’t do a Ghostbusters movie without Dr. Peter Venkman).

I’m sick of the trend in Hollywood these days, to do a shitty sequel just to rake in profits, instead of funding original projects. Don’t they realize that a bad sequel reflects poorly on even the most pristine original movie? The Star Wars prequels make the rest of the series look bad…The Matrix should have stopped at one movie. I think you put it quite well why there should not be another Back To The Future movie – time travel is bad, and “the future hasn’t been written yet” – Doc said that at the end of #3. Ghostbusters 2 wasn’t even as good as the first, really, but at least it didn’t suck as much as The Matrix Revolutions.

    Ugh.

I completely agreed with everything you said, Blade: Trinity (bad sequel), Robocop 3 (bad sequel), Matrix: Revolution (bad sequel), Home Alone 3 (and 4 which was made by Disney) (bad sequels), Speed 2: Cruise Contol, Batman & Robin, Jurassic Park 3, now I’m starting to rack my brain because most of these have been put in the back of my mind because most of them aren’t even worth remembering. Orignals make sequels because they were good, sequels make money because the orginal was good (usually), numbers 3 through whatever the series ends with are usually very unforgettable. Notice how many bad movies (unless in a trilogy–with the exception of Matrix) tend to be bad. And I don’t count movies like Die Hard: With a Vengence part of a trilogy. Star Wars, Lord of the Ring, Back to the Future, Matrix are trilogy because the three movies were planned to tell one giant story. But if they don’t they aren’t really a trilogy…even if the DVD package says it is.

    Hear, hear! Well said.

I tried to think of more, but really couldn’t…I actually watched some of Jurassic Park 3, oh god…that was disgusting.

Nah, didn’t get that far…as soon as they realized they were trapped on the island (again), I gave up and turned on something else.

hahaha, oh then you were like five minutes too soon, the Spino came out right after that, but its a short movie, like an hour and a half, and its sad when a movie like that comes out and continues to distroy the legacy of the great original one. Spielberg (sp) has a boner for making a fourth one too. But he says its going to be different. And I’ve heard rumors that it has the army training dinosaurs to take into battle. But that seems too stupid!
