Jurassic Park 4 gearing up to be filmed next year

According to IMDB.com, which is usually (key word here people, usually) good about reporting things had this to say about the sequel:

‘Jurassic Park 4’ To Begin Shooting Next Year?

Director Steven Spielberg will reportedly begin filming the fourth installment of Jurassic Park next year. The Munich director is also currently getting ready to resurrect the Indiana Jones franchise with Harrison Ford later this year. Producer Frank Marshall confirms the script for the next version of the dinosaur epic has been finalized: “It has a good script now, so we should have that one up and running next year, for release in 2008.” The character of Lexie, the granddaughter of Sir Richard Attenborough’s character, is expected to be the lead role in the new film, according to Moviehole.net.

I wonder if they will get Ariana Richards to play Lexy again, she was the one in the first movie, and had a cameo in the second one, I would believe Spielberg would fight to have here in this movie (he probably doesn’t have to fight anyone anymore, he probably just sends the raptors to go kill someone who is protesting, maybe even borrowing his good friend George Lucas’ storm troopers to do it occasionally) but if the story that I heard for this movie is true, with even more genetic shit being played around with the dinosaurs and having human-noid like dino-soldiers fighting against human soldiers, I think I might pass. Unless for some crazy reason they can actually get a good movie out of Jurassic Park. Not that JPIII was that bad, but it wasn’t that good either. I honestly think that I could come up with a much better sequel than three, but it doesn’t matter, Hollywood will always go with the crappier movies. (and its not like JPIII was cheaper than the other two films, in fact it was the most expensive and worst of the three JP movies).

If they make it, like they will probably make Indiana Jones IV, I hope that it is a good movie and not a piece of shit.

  1. I don’t think he is, I can’t see him coming back, I think the guy who directed the third one will be doing it. Or at least that was what they said.

  2. it would be nice if they either got Spielberg to work it or if they got someone else to do it. Someone with a little more love for Jurassic Park. They should get Michael Criton (the author of the first two books) to do it. He’s directed things before, he directed the film version of his The Great Train Robbery, that would be interesting…

  3. they would probably turn out better.

Lets see, how many of them have actually turned out good.

    Jurassic Park
The Lost World (debatable, since it didn’t really follow the movie)

The 13th Warrior (novel name: Eaters of the Dead, I bet you can tell why they changed the name of it)

  4. eaters of the dead actually sounds like a kickass movie.

jurassic park: the lost world belongs in the “bad” list, i saw it in theaters. yep.
