Turning up at last night’s Sony Ericsson Empire Awards, “Star Wars” producer Rick McCallum confirmed to Empire Online that George Lucas has approved an “Indiana Jones IV script and returned it to Spielberg for more polishing.

He also says the Star Wars TV show is a go – “That’s not going to happen probably for another year and a half while we develop scripts and everything else. But it’s fantastic; we’ve got some incredible writers. It’s going to be much darker, much more character-based, and I think it’s going to be everything the fans always wanted the prequels to be. They’ll be one-hour episode. It takes place between Episodes III and IV. It’s going to be all-new characters, maybe a few bounty hunters in there to start the series off”.

Lucas is currently penning the script for his long-cherished World War II fighter pilots film “Red Tails” before sending it out to other writers towards years end and then gets filming on it next year.

Ohh! A new film by George Lucas not dealing with Star Wars and its about World War II, peeks my interest very much!

Star Wars show sounds awesome.

And Indy IV should be good if they ever fucking do it!

Wow, interesting…sounds like things are moving along for Lucas and Spielberg.

Not sure I’d watch the Star Wars TV show, but Indy 4 is a definite. World War II fighter pilot film? Not sure about that one…

I can see it all now: Indiana Jones busts out of his retirement home to find the lost artifact of the ancient Deku civilization.

that’s always been my image of Indy 4, there are rumors that they are trying to get Sean Connery in to play his dad again. A couple rules I’ll add to this. #1 don’t kill off Sean Connery, because that would make the third one suck. #2 let him be in on the action and not confined to a bed. #3 don’t suck. #4 don’t make Indy 4 be the one that has Indy loose his eye, because if you ever watched or heard of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, it had a Indiana Jones that was 101 years old telling stories to his grand children about when he was an treasure hunter and he has an eye patch over one of his eyes…bet you didn’t know that trivia fact.

wow, totally forgot about the young indiana jones…man, i never watched that, but that was way back when most kids shows actually followed the storyline of the movies. oh, and the movie directors/producers/whatever actually had a hand in creating the kids shows.

remember the back to the future tv show? was browsing IMDB and found it:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101042/

that kicked so much ass, it was able to follow the storyline perfectly and everything. they even got the christopher lloyd to do the voice of doc!! oh, and bill nye did science shorts, too…so it was educational, too.

why don’t they do that these days?

btw, the only one i can think of that did not follow any sort of relevant storyline was james bond jr….it’s just one of those things that the movie studios prefer to forget they ever did, since james bond can’t really have a kid…well, i suppose he could potentially have lots of kids, but that’s besides the point.

  5. socramforever says:

Actually, Christopher Lloyd never actually did the voice of Doc for the cartoon, that was somebody else entirly, but the guy who played Biff and the lady that played Doc’s wife were the same from the movie. Chris Lloyd simply did the live action scenes. I never did understand why they didn’t get Lloyd as Doc for the cartoon…

Also, James Bond Jr. wasn’t James Bond’s son, it was James Bonds’ nephew. He always mentioned his Uncle James and things like that.

  6. flammable says:

wow. but how could be be james bond JUNIOR if he’s james bond’s nephew? see, i think that makes even less sense…even though i do believe you, i think the writers must have been on crack.

i had totally forgotten about those live action scenes, man, that was a long time ago. i wish they’d release this on DVD or something.

I see your point about the James Bond Jr. and that was always something that bothered me too. I never understood it. But I guess it happens. I mean James Bond never did have any kids, so I guess it can happen. But if that was your brother…would you name your son after him? I mean, I wouldn’t even want to be associated with James Bond because everything that I did would be overshadowed by what my brother would do. I mean, I could be a writer…but he just saved the world…again…see what I’m saying?

  8. flammable says:

Also, James Bond is a secret agent…so therefore you’d think he doesn’t know his family anymore, right? Cause he’s a secret.

James Bond must have been pretty slick to not have any kids, the way he did things. Ahem.

  9. socramforever says:

his parents died in a plane crash or something…that’s all I know…James Bond’s parents not JB jrs, I don’t know what happened to them.

  10. flammable says:

Ohhh, I see…so his brother (the father of James Bond Jr.) somehow knows that Bond is a secret agent? Or maybe James Bond Jr. does?

You know what this means, don’t you? Someone’s got to make a movie to explain this.

  11. socramforever says:

I’d rather not see this movie if they ever do make it…sounds too complex…

…they were however discussing plans for a James Bond high school movie…where…oh gees, I must have put this up somewhere…hold on let me check:

…can’t find it, but I’ll keep looking, it would star the kid that plays Harry Potter and would take place during high school…or rather bording school where a young Bond starts to do what he does best. Based on a book or something, I’ll do more research in a bit.

  12. socramforever says:

ha! I actually found it and I had posted it way back in September of last year, crazy!!!! here check it out: http://socramforever.livejournal.com/75177.html

also while looking for stuff on darkhorizons first, I went back to only November, I didn’t go all the way to Sept. I didn’t think that it went back that far, I figured that it was some hot rumor around the time that Harry Potter came out, I found this little nugget…you like Kevin Smith right? Check this out:

  13. flammable says:

Am not a Kevin Smith fan, but apparently Dogma was pretty good.

I can’t believe I missed that Bond post! Wow. Now it’s starting to sound kinda familiar, that’s about the time I was still in school and had to pass up commenting some posts.

That still scares the hell out of me, though.
