Wrestlemania 22 results

As I posted yesterday, Wrestlemania 22 was awesome, and I’m so happy that I got to see it. The last time I saw a Wrestlemania live was back in 2000 for Wrestlemania 2000 (now called Wrestlemania 16).

Here are the results as compared to my predicitons:

-Big Show/Kane (c) vs. Carlito/Chris Masters for the RAW Tag Titles

My prediction was: Winners and new Tag Team Champions: Carlito and Chris Masters

Results: Winners and still Tag Team Champions: Big Show and Kane

only to lose them the next night to The Spirit Squad (don’t think that will last too long)

-Money in the Bank ladder match (Rob Van Dam, Ric Flair, Shelton Benjamin, Fit Finley, Matt Hardy, and Lashley as participants)

My prediction was : No other reason why Flair would be there. Winner: Ric Flair

Results: Winner: Rob Van Dam

Rumor has it he will use it at this years ECW One Night Stand Pay Per View in June, sounds good to me.

-Chris Benoit (c) vs. John Bradshaw Layfield for the United States Title

My predictions was: Winner and New United States Champion: John Bradshaw Layfield

Results: Winner and New United States Champion: John Bradshaw Layfield

I like JBL, and I think he’ll do a great job with the United States Championship.

-Mick Foley vs. Edge in a Hardcore Match

My prediction: Winner: Edge

Results: Winner: Edge

Simply one of the most amazing hardcore matches I’ve ever seen, the ending with Foley and Edge going through the flaming table was awesome!

-Boogeyman vs. Sharmell Sullivan/Booker T

My prediction was: Winner: Boogeyman

Results: Winner: Boogeyman

Simply put, it was a waste of time

-Trish Stratus (c) vs. Mickie James for the Women’s
Title

My prediction was: Winner and new women’s champion: Mickie James

Results: Winner and New Women’s Champion: Mickie James

Amazing women’s match, Mickie James is awesome!

-Undertaker vs. Mark Henry in a Casket Match

My prediction was: Winner: Undertaker

Results: Undertaker

Taker is now 14-0 at Wrestlemania, he did an amazing job here, and put in a little extra and his legacy at having 14 wins to 0 loses at Wrestlemania continues. They better not end it ever, or if they do it should be to someone who is worthy of it.

-Shawn Michaels vs. Vince McMahon in a “No Holds
Barred” match

My prediction was: Winner: Shawn Michaels

Results: Shawn Michaels

This match was great, total beat down, and you knew it was coming down to this, but Vince took every bump, and even worse than most of his talent takes it. He allowed himself to get hit in the head by a not only a chair, but took a direct shot from the top point of a ladder to the top of his head and he instantly started to gush blood. That was crazy!

From Raw last night: Probably won’t buy Backlash on April 30th, but the Vince and Shane vs Shawn Michaels and God tag team match should be…um…interesting…seeing as Shawn won’t really have anyone in his corner…Vince has lost it…

-Kurt Angle (c) vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Randy Orton
for the World Title

My prediction was: Winner and New World Champion: Randy Orton

Results: Winner and New World Champion: Rey Mysterio

I was shocked, since Rey had not dedicated this match to Eddie I didn’t think he would win it. I wanted him to win, but I figured the clear winner would have been Orton. I’m so happy for Rey for not only winning the Royal Rumble but also winning the Smackdown! main event at Wrestlemania and also winning the World Heavyweight Championship.

-Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle in a Pillow Fight

My prediction was: Winner: Torrie Wilson

Results: Torrie Wilson

Nice way to calm down the audience before the Triple H/Cena match

-John Cena (c) vs. Triple H for the WWE Title

My prediction was: Winner and New WWE Champion: Triple H

Results: Winner and Still WWE Champion: John Cena

Nearly shit myself when I saw that John Cena made Triple H tap to the STFU. Nearly shit myself!

Great Pay Per View. Worth every second of it. A hell of a lot better than last years crap fest. I hope that the WWE can continue with this momentum into the summer.
