Summer 2007 just got another sequel, and this one is in a prime slot. If further entries in the “Harry Potter”, “Spider-Man”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Shrek”, “Fantastic Four”, “Bruce Almighty”, “Bourne Identity”, “28 Days Later”, “Rush Hour” and “Ocean’s Eleven” franchises weren’t enough, 20th Century Fox has now announced a June 29th 2007 release date for the fourth “Die Hard” film reports the trades.

Entitled “Live Free or Die Hard”, and hitting the same day as Pixar’s “Ratatouille”, ‘Hard’ sees Bruce Willis confirmed to be reprising his role of New York cop John McClane in a story which centers on an attack on the U.S.’ computer infrastructure that begins to shut the country down. However the villains never expected an old-fashioned cop to mess up his plans.

Filming begins next month on the Len Wiseman-directed flick, more than ten years after the last sequel “Die Hard: With a Vengeance” which opened in 1995. The July 4th holiday weekend date is also relevant to the film’s plot, but will put the film in competition with Paramount’s big budget “Transformers” film. Willis is the only confirmed casting so far.

Did you see the amount of sequels coming out next summer? I’m so fucking excited! I love sequels…correction, I love good sequels that don’t fuck up the original…I’m not crazy about Live Free or Die Hard being the title, its either Die Hard 4.0 or its not a Die Hard movie…period. Hopefully someone smacks the fucker who came up with that idea…

What a horrible name…ughhh. So far, off to a bad start.

Someone mentioned on IDMB that it should be ‘Die Hard 4: Die Hardest’. This makes the most sense to me.

that’s what Die Hard 3 was supposed to be, but they thought it was dumb, I mean, Die Hard 2: Die Harder sounded dumb even back in 1990…but it would make more sense. I definately do not like Live Free or Die Hard…stupid!

  3. flammable says:

Yeah!! I bet the same person came up with the title “Die Hard 4: These Colors Don’t Die”. The new one just seems overly patriotic.

yeah, i felt the same when i heard it, no reason to make it like that. we know its a sequel, just show us the movies already! we’ve waited almost 12 years!
