Liev Schreiber, Laura Harring, Angie Cepeda, Ana Claudia Talancon and Rubria Negrao have joined the cast of “Love in the Time of Cholera” says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story, based on the novel by Nobel Prize-winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez, follows a romantic man named Florentino who loses Fermina, the girl of his dreams, to a wealthier suitor and spends the next 50 years building his life and reputation so that one day he might have her.

Mike Newell is directing for Stone Village Pictures and New Line Cinema. Javier Bardem and Giovanna Mezzogiorno already have been cast in the film, as has Catalina Sandino Moreno.

Now, I’m not a fan of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but I know that people do think he’s God’s gift to novel writting. My (or our–Melissa and my) Intro to Lit professor had such a boner over him. I mean, he may have revolutionarized novel writting, but I don’t get it. I like my dumb books and my dumb non-fiction books.

He’s still alive and they finally got him to sign away the rights to his novel.
