Ghostbusters video game

This actually looks like its going to be amazing. If its real and not a hoax, it will be a best seller and will force Columbia Pictures to make a third sequel.

Here is an image from it:

Continue on for some videos, it looks like a Halo or Gears of War game with Ghostbusters in it:

Aintitcoolnew.com had this up:

Merrick here…

Below, you can find some videos currently making the rounds on YouTube. They appear to show demo material for a GHOSTBUSTERS shooter — looking a bit tougher and grittier than its 80s progenitor. The videos are attributed to ZootFly, whose site you can access HERE.

The top video feels like it might be a GEARS OF WAR mod of some sort…perhaps built to simulate a potential GB game? Although, the quantity and quality of the material below suggests there’s much more to this story.

If we’re not gonna get a new movie…this might be a mighty fun substitute. Even if all of this is nothing more than an elaborate hoax, it’s a damn fine one that should point The Powers That Be towards a very obvious conclusion: I’m thinking we really need a game like this.

Now!

I’m also thinking that if its a hoax, its a damn good one, so dammit give us another movie or at least a game like this!

Okay, after lots and lots of searching, it appears these are game pitches – trying to get Sony to be impressed with their work enough to hand over a contract for an actual video game.

As of now, it appears to be just a mod of the game “Gears of War”.

when you say lots and lots of searching are you saying it in a sarcastic light? or are you being serious…I can’t really tell…

I hope to god Sony takes this pitch. I would buy any system that it was on just to play it…

Haha, I was being serious! I searched so much that at some point, I forgot what I was looking for…and realized I had found all of the answers. I even went to a Ghostbusters fan site, that’s how much I dug for details.

Me too, I hope Sony takes it…though there’s the possibility that it could be PS3 only, considering that Sony owns the Playstation. Meh.

Unless they make it for GameCube, I probably won’t be playing it for a long time, anyway…

Cool! I thought you were being sarcastic. So the info for this “game” is out there…people are looking at it? what are they saying? is it possitive?

Oh yeah!! Every comment that I’ve read has been “omg, I need this game.” I’m hoping the Sony executives see some of them, this would be a kickass game.

    wikipedia to the rescue:

    Name
The console was known by the codename of “Revolution” until April 27, 2006, immediately prior to E3.[8] According to the Nintendo Style Guide, the name “is simply Wii, not Nintendo Wii.” This means it is the first home console Nintendo has marketed outside of Japan without the company name featured in its trademark. While “Wiis” is a commonly used pluralization of the console, Nintendo has stated that the official plural form is “Wii Systems” or “Wii Consoles.”[9] Nintendo spells “Wii” with two lower-case “i” characters meant to resemble two people standing side by side, representing players gathering together, as well as to represent the console’s controllers. The company has given many reasons for this choice of name since the announcement; however, the most well known is:

“ Wii sounds like ‘we’, which emphasizes that the console is for everyone. Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii.[10] ”

Despite Nintendo’s justification for the name, some game developers and members of the press initially reacted negatively towards the change. They preferred “Revolution” over “Wii”[11] and expressed fear “that the name would convey a continued sense of ‘kidiness’ [sic] to the console.”[12] The BBC reported the day after the name was announced that “a long list of puerile jokes, based on the name,” had appeared on the Internet.[13] Reggie Fils-Aime acknowledged the initial reaction and further explained the change:

“ Revolution as a name is not ideal; it’s long, and in some cultures, it’s hard to pronounce. So we wanted something that was short, to the point, easy to pronounce, and distinctive. That’s how ‘Wii,’ as a console name, was created.[14] ”

Nintendo defended its choice of “Wii” over “Revolution” and responded to critics of the name by stating: “live with it, sleep with it, eat with it, move along with it.”[15]
