Jurassic Park 4: Extinct?

I had a feeling that once they didn’t get this one moving after the third one came out, back in 2001, that it probably was never going to happen. Also, what with writer/creator Michael Crichton having passed away along with special effects/make-up artist Stan Winston also passing away last year, both of which worked on the Jurassic project, I didn’t see this one coming through at all.

Jurassic Park 4 extinct, says producer

You kids can stop crafting those mock “Jurassic Park 4” posters in PhotoShop – because the film is unlikely to ever happen, thus, there won’t be any fansites wanting your rapidly-produced homemade one sheets.

Producer Frank Marshall tells io9 that the once-as-good-as-greenlit fourth installment has been put on the back-burner, adding that it’s a “long-shot” in terms of it ever happening.

More likely to come to fruition is Marshall’s remake of Wolfgang Peterson’s “NeverEnding Story”.

It’s probably for the best – I saw #2, and it sucked. Saw clips of #3, and it was just ridiculous.

Like, you’re really going to go back to that island? Nothing bad could possibly happen? Right…

Seeing that its the end of the school year, and we’re just cleaning up at school, I showed the kids Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Jurassic Park III and the quality of the movies clearly takes a huge jump down from 1 to 3. Three is by far my least favorite and I’ve come to appreciate 2 more because of how bad 3 was. No love lost on this one. Seeing how Hollywood is right now, they would probably remake Jurassic Park instead of making a fourth one. Which would suck!
