Hangover sequel?

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

I read that the director of The Hangover waived his fee in order to keep the film rights, he said this was going to be his Star Wars (and if you don’t know what that means, George Lucas asked for all the rights to the Star Wars franchise and they let him have it). Anyway, I heard mixed reviews of this movie and decided to watch it myself and thought it was one of the funniest movies in a long time. I don’t think I laughed as hard at a movie since Grandma’s Boy.

Anyway, it looks as if they are going ahead with a sequel. I just hope they aren’t rushing it or anything. It better live up to the first one. Sequels to comedies are the most difficult thing.

“The Hangover” Sequel Ready To Go

By Garth Franklin Wednesday March 31st 2010 11:25AM
"The Hangover" Sequel Ready To Go
After months of negotiations, things look ready for “The Hangover” sequel to head into production over at Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures says Deadline Hollywood.

The original film’s three key stars Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms are each set to be paid around $5 million against 4% of first dollar gross. Director/producer Todd Phillips will also be paid around $10 million against 10% along with bonuses should the sequel prove as popular as the original.

The salary jump is huge, the three stars earned less than $1 million combined for their roles in the original which has become the biggest grossing R-rated comedy in history. Because the studios didn’t think the raunchy comedy would turn out to be a hit let alone such a major one, they didn’t have sequel option deals in place with the stars.

This allowed for some tough and drawn out negotiating which dragged on for several months. Now it seems, everything is in place, with an October start of shooting being targeted depending upon Ed Helms’ “The Office” production schedule.

The fourth and mostly missing cast member Justin Bartha is also set to return, and the studio is already targeting a Memorial Day 2011 release.

Wrestlemania 26 results and thoughts

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Undertaker may be 18 – 0 at Wrestlemania, but last night just wasn’t my night with my predictions…not counting the Diva’s tag match, I was 4-5. Blah! Overall, great show, I felt some of the endings were odd, as if they were all of a sudden and for no reason, but I enjoyed the show.

Wrestlemania 26 Results and Thoughts:

Great match, surprised but happy that it closed out the show, it deserved to go last. Now, thinking about it, Rock Hogan I should have probably closed out Wrestlemania X-8…anyway, I thought the match was great. The person that needed to win did and hopefully we’ll see Shawn sooner rather than later in the squared circle.
Winner: Undertaker

Let’s just say this one bored us watching it. I feel as if it were the end that the angle needed it to be. It was a lackluster angle that should have been something much stronger and it wasn’t. Thankfully, we probably never need to see any of the Montreal Screwjob ever again.
Winner: Bret Hart

Cena wins again. I thought the ending was weak in this match. I thought Batista should have been a freaking animal in this match, but he wasn’t…hopefully we’ll see something between the two of them next month.
Winner and New Champion: John Cena

Good match, felt it was toned down just a little. I bet this gets stretched until next month…or even beyond that. I think it has legs for it.
Winner and still Champion: Chris Jericho

And that ends where I actually had the right predictions, here are the rest…
Jack Swagger was a shocker to us all and now I’m glad that he didn’t win the WWE Championship back in December when it was report that he was supposed to have gotten the push and not Sheamus. I hope they don’t crap on him. I’ve actually been very high on Swagger and hope that he does really well.
Winner: Jack Swagger

Shortest freaking match of the night. They could have shaved some time off of the Vince/Bret match or the Diva’s match.
Winners and Still Champions: Big Show and Miz

Sheamus’ best match to date…but that’s not saying much. I don’t think Triple H needed to win this one, but I bet it continues next month.
Winner: Triple H

Didn’t mind Orton winning, especially with the return of the pose at the end, but like many of us were saying last night, it was a waste of two future stars. I hope the feud continues to see a good match and win with DiBiase and/or Rhodes.
Winner: Randy Orton

I expected this to be a lot better, but for what it was it wasn’t bad. I see it being the beginning to a longer feud.
Winner: Rey Mysterio

I didn’t know what the true stipulations of this match were when I predicted the other day, I simply put Maryse and seeing that Maryse was on Vickie’s team, I guess I was right, but I wouldn’t feel right saying I had 5-5 in my predictions.
Winner: Vickie Guerrero’s team

This happens every year, whoever isn’t in a match on the main card usually is in a Battle Royal before. This year I think it was just to say you had a match at Wrestlemania. We were surprised that Yoshi Tatsu was the winner. But that’s cool. I miss WWE ECW sometimes.
Winner: Yoshi Tatsu

Blogging for Five Years…

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

I guess I missed the actual date, but since March 25th, I’ve been blogging for five years. I guess I have Mike to thanks for that, he told me I should start putting things in a blog and not on my AIM (AOL Instant Messager); which had an option to add some information when you clicked on the screen name.

When I first started with my blog it was on Live Journal and I just read my first blog entry (I mention that it was the return of “The Blog”–I didn’t realize it was a blog before that, and I wish I still had whatever came before that, but all I have is what was on Live Journal) and in January of 09, Mike helped me bring everything over to my cosmelentertainment site.

It might look like a completely different world if you read the first blog, and in fact, it is, everyone was in a completely different place five years ago then they are now. From girlfriend Melissa, to RA Training, to living on campus. Things have come a long long way in just five years. I wonder what I’ll be blogging about in five years from now…please read and enjoy. Wrestlemania 26 Predictions: WWE Champion Batista vs. John Cena

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

WWE Champion Batista vs. John Cena

Contrary to the popular answer, I’m going with John Cena winning here. I think if you are going to end Wrestlemania by sending people home happy, then John Cena has to win…I do have another prediction, Batista will beat Cena throughout the match and then out of nowhere Attitude Adjustment into STF for the win and an extremely beaten and tired but celebrating Cena will have to defend his newly won championship against, Money in the Bank winner Drew McIntyre. But regardless…

Winner: John Cena

I don’t think it will be as good as last year but this will still be the match to watch. This is simple, streak = money.

Winner: The Undertaker
