True Blood movie?

Cos

Saw this a week or so ago, didn’t get a chance to post it, but I’ve enjoyed True Blood over the last three seasons. The last season wasn’t that good, I thought it was a bit scattered, but there have been rumors of HBO shows for years. From The Sopranos to Sex and the City (they’ve actually had two movies) to Rome (they are currently in the pre-production stages of this) and now True Blood. They are always trying to move towards movies.

True Blood is one of the many genre-oriented drama series’ kicking ass on television right now, that’s no secret. The thing has a huge fanbase and rightfully so… the show is awesome! But have you ever thought about the possibility of seeing Sookie, Bill, Eric and the rest of the “True Blood” group on the big screen? To be completely honest the thought had never crossed this schmuck’s mind… until today.

According to the folks over at What’s Playing “True Blood” may end up on the big screen ‘sooner rather than later.’ They’ve also got word that “True Blood” creator Alan Ball may be eyeing the project as a directing gig. Interesting… Unfortunately these are the only details we’re offered as this whole thing is very far from actually happening… But it’s intriguing to see the wheels slowly turning, isn’t it?

What do you guys think? Would you be down for a “True Blood” movie or do you think it should stay on the small screen? How about after the show is cancelled, which could very well be years from now. Would you rather see a flick then or not at all? This one should garner up some interesting conversation so be sure to hit us with your thoughts on the whole thing below and keep it here for more on anything and everything “True Blood” as we hear it!
