“Back” after a two day break

Cos

Sunday night, while walking the dogs (I think I had Chloe) in the blizzard, I took a decent fall in the snow. I was wearing my slippers that I’ve been using for years with Cassie to take her outside and let’s just say they don’t have the traction that they used to. I’ve fallen in the snow plenty of times and didn’t think anything of it.

The next day I didn’t really feel anything, but after cleaning up the drive way I can admit to feeling a tiny bit sore on my back. But again, didn’t think anything of it. Besides, I did fall.

Tuesday was more of the same, a little sore, but again, I did fall, didn’t think anything of it. Went about my business and enjoyed my day. Melissa and I went out to dinner and I was fine. I drove back home, but by the time I parked in the driveway and got out of the car, I was in pain. I didn’t realize how bad I was until I tried to stand up and their was an excruciating amount of pain coming from my lower back.

I valiantly tried to continue on with some things around the house, but found it difficult to even walk up the stairs. Every time I placed my foot down I questioned whether or not this one would hurt. Needless to say, I was freaking out.

Melissa handled everything that night to the best of her ability and tried to not only keep me calm, but resting while I endured a good deal of pain.

My mind was racing, did I do something extremely bad to my back? How did this happen?I was beside myself. I went to bed and woke up in the exact same position. I did turn but even that was painful.

The next morning was just as bad, if not worse then the night before. I almost decided to stay in bed all day.

At some point in the morning I decided that I wasn’t going to allow my back to ruin my day or my week and I forced myself to get up. I went to the doctor and got some medicine. I’m doing a lot better now…I wasn’t in as big of a rush to take my medicine today, actually just took it a few minutes ago. I’m doing pretty good if I can say so myself.

Also, why not take this post as an excuse to post some recent pictures of Peanut, Cassie and Chloe huh? Enjoy!

Wow man, glad you’re feeling better! Hurt my back too today, but some Advil helped – sounds like you’ve got something more serious.

Take it easy! You don’t want to screw around with your back, that never ends well.

it has gotten better, still a little sore, but working through it. I know, you really don’t want to mess with the back or it will haunt you forever…

yeah, especially with the puppy and snow and even driving can hurt…I’m just rolling with the punches and seeing where that gets me…how’s everything on your end. I didn’t have too much free time with the puppy over Christmas break to do much of anything else and then my back, so I didn’t even bother you.

No worries man, been swamped myself. Put together a list, we’ll get it all done. You’re not bothering me, I swear – I was just a little miffed that I wouldn’t get any days off, with Xmas and New Year’s each falling on a Saturday. They gave me a day off anyway, which was nice. I feel like February will be much easier.
