Booker T to coach on Tough Enough

Cos

I touched on this below (unfortunately there was a little hiccup with WordPress and I lost my original post, so now I’m a little angry and I’m trying to write this one up as fast as possible I just want to relax right now). Booker T has announced that he will be one of the coaches for the resurrected Touch Enough show. So add to that host Stone Cold Steve Austin and the yet announced head coach and at least another female coach (because that’s what they did the last time) and we have the potential to have an all star cast of coaches for the new Tough Enough show.

I am still holding out hope for a possible shocker of Shawn Michaels as the head coach and possibly William Regal also being involved. I don’t know who they could get to be the female coach, but seeing that everyone seems to be a big name, it would have to be someone recognizable.

Getting back to Booker T, I’ve been a fan of Bookers since the late years of WCW, but I was at the 2001 King of the Ring PPV when he made his WWE debut interrupting the triple threat main event of Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Y2J Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit (something tells me he wasn’t the Rabid Wolverine at this point yet, but slowly getting there). I like how he’s been welcomed back into the WWE with open arms, I mean he was a surprise entrant into the Rumble, he was just added to the Smackdown announce team and now he’s being put into a high profile show. Pretty impressive for someone who bad mouthed the WWE after he left and was apart of TNA.

Completely off topic, I’m not a fan of the new Tough Enough logo, I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the old one.

Anyway, here is the news from Bleacher Report:

Breaking News: WWE Tough Enough Adds Yet Another World Champion to the Roster

In years past, there have been solid mid-carders used as hosts and trainers for “Tough Enough.” Guys like Al Snow, Hardcore Holly and Bill Demott passed on their knowledge and helped build the franchise.

Eight years later, the WWE is re-launching this TV series and it appears they are looking to stack-the-deck.

One week ago, it was announced that WWE Hall of Famer;  Stone Cold Steve Austin would be hosting the reality series.

Now, we learn that former WCW and World champion Booker T will be on board as a trainer.

This is huge as these are two main-event wrestlers that cannot only share their wrestling knowledge, but can give advice on how to be smart in the spotlight.

For the most part, both men have been able to be in the spotlight and keep their noses clean. With the exception being, Austin’s one reported domestic dispute.

Prior to his storied wrestling career, Booker had some run-ins with the law. But has since changed his life around completely.

Booker has a school and wrestling company called Booker T’s Pro Wrestling Alliance and Academy.

Which he is very hands on with. So the trainer role will not be a stretch for him.

It will be interesting to see who gets selected next. As the WWE clearly wants people to watch and what better way to do so then to give fans star power.
