WWE All Stars: Roster

Cos

I’ve heard of the new WWE/THQ video game WWE All Stars and I’ve seen pics of the characters which I thought looked very cartoon like and I dismissed it. I figured that it was going to be something along the lines of WWE Smackdown vs Raw or Legend of Wrestlemania. But this seems like the selling point are those dream matches that we’ve never seen before, which we call Dream Matches, and Lordsofpain.net actually had some of them up and apparently All Stars has a “Fantasy Warfare” mode where you could wrestle any two wrestlers from history.

Here are just a few from Lordsofpain.net:

* Biggest Superstar: John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan

* Superior Lifestyle: CM Punk vs. Steve Austin

* Coldest Snake: Randy Orton vs. Jake Roberts

* Perfectly Awesome: The Miz vs. Mr. Perfect

* Innovative Offense: Kofi Kingston vs. Ricky Steamboat

* Stars & Stripes Showdown: Jack Swagger vs. Sgt. Slaughter

* Pride of Scotland: Drew McIntyre vs. Roddy Piper

* Greatest Big Man: Big Show vs. Andre the Giant

For the rest of the list go to Lords of Pain.

I remember back in the day when I was in college, it was either my freshmen or sophomore year, and I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, my roommate, Chris,  owned Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role and they did allow you to unlock wrestlers and we did try The Big Show vs Andre the Giant and I think Big Show won that one. But, this is a vastly different game, with extremely different graphics and an outrageous & over the top move-set that would make the makers of Def Jam Vendetta blush. But I’m all for it!

This game comes out on March 29th and I’ll be looking for reviews on this to see if I should even get it for my Nintendo Wii.

This game reminded me of the old WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade  Game that came out in the mid-90’s, I remember seeing it around when arcades were cool…sigh, those were the days. Upon doing a slightly bit more research I found out that one of the producers of the Wrestlemania arcade game is also produced the new WWE All Stars game…I like it!
