Tim Burton’s Batman 25 Year Anniversary

Can’t believe its been 25 years since Batman came out, I can remember going to see it with my parents back in 1989. I also remember leaving feeling disappointed simply because I, at the time, preferred the campier 1960’s version that channel 11 (in NY) had the reruns playing. Little did I realize then that I would grow to love the movie and most of its sequels and especially the reboot. But I definitely love the character of Batman, I probably own more things of Batman now then I did as a child, like this shirt I got a few weeks ago:

Anyway,  today is a big day in movie history, not only was it the 25 year anniversary of Batman, but there were a lot of movies that seem to have come out 25-30 years ago. Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom both came out yesterday 30 years ago (I’m pretty sure that it was a Friday people, so don’t get all up in arms that today is in fact a Monday), among some other movies.

Anyway, a bunch of websites posted this 20 minute video about Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman movie, it was made to show distributors and toy companies that Batman “would not suck” because regardless of the fact that it seems as if it would be a no brainer now, people still had a bad taste in their mouths about the 1960’s campy Batman series.
