November 16, 2007New Line Cinema has set the release date for the new Friday the 13th movie for, appropriately, February 13, 2009. The revamp of the Jason Voorhees franchise will be directed by Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.
At first I thought this was a stupid idea, but now knowing that Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes production company is making it, with the guy that remade Texas Chainsaw (which I thought was a great movie mind you, and no it wasn’t just because Jessica Biel was in it) I feel so much more confident…unlike McG doing Terminator Salvation. Bah!
