I never thought I’d be posting something about Michael Jackson, I didn’t really pay much attention when they had articles up about him being 50. But about twenty minutes ago, on the way back from P.F. Chang’s with Melissa’s parents, “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson, off of his Thriller album (from 1982–it turned 25 this year, I turned 26 (I don’t get that but whatever)was on and we had a quick conversation about it.

Just on the way don’t here on Friday we heard a disc jockey say that Michael Jackson is about 200 million dollars in dept and Melissa’s father didn’t know why he (Jackson) just doesn’t put out some music. I said that he did come out with an album around 2001 and it bombed. It wasn’t good at all. In my opinion it didn’t work because it sounded too much like the older stuff he put out in the 80’s and the early 90’s. Melissa then said that it probably didn’t work in 2001 but there is a lot of music out now that sounds like what he put out and that it might benefit him to put something out now because it would probably work.

Then I thought, imagine Michael Jackson working with Ãœber (I love that word!) record producer, composer, rapper and singer who has been huge the last few years. Think about the money that they would bring in. I’m just throwing that one out there. I want credit for that one when that actually happens.

Ãœber or ueber: comes from the German language. It is a cognate of both Latin super and Greek ὑπέρ (hyper), as well as English over (as in “overkill”). During the 2000s, über also became known as a synonym for super due to gamers’ excessively using the word incorrectly; e.g. über-bright = “super bright,” generally with a slightly intensified meaning. Ãœber is commonly written as uber in English, though with slightly different meaning.
