I had no desire to see the Pixar CG film Cars, but when Melissa and I finally did we loved it. In fact, I have to say its my favorite Pixar film that I’ve seen so far. I’m excited to hear that they are moving ahead with it. I just hope that with the recent passing of Paul Newman (who voiced the Mayor of the town that the first film takes place in, doesn’t do too much with the making of this one).

Pixar is moving up the release date of its “Cars” sequel by a full year – from the originally announced date of Summer 2012 to Summer 2011.
“Antz” and “Ratatouille” producer Brad Lewis will make his direcotrial debut on the film which will use car models from all over the world.
The story line has Mater getting his passport as he and Lightning McQueen travel the globe.
Also, an animated series of cartoons will be airing on The Disney Channel with the possibility of becoming direct-to-DVD features of their own.
“Mater’s Tall Tales”, featuring Larry the Cable Guy’s character, will be the first off the starting line and feature the character in earlier incarnations as a fire truck, dardevil and matador.
Yeah, both Paul Newman and George Carlin are gone. 🙁
George Carlin was in Cars?
Yup! He was the hippie VW bus.
