OK, so Paul E Normus probably wasn’t the most well known of wrestlers seeing that he wasn’t on WWE or even TNA, but I knew him.
During late 2005 and early 2006 when I was working for ECPW he was in a tag team with Sinister X called Apocalypse. The two of them would come out to Metallica’s Where Ever I May Roam and were awesome together. Then I stopped with ECPW and I didn’t really keep up. But I mean, we knew him, Melissa even knew who Paul E Normus was, she got a picture with him and his tag team partner.

I found out today that Paul E Normus passed away last week on the 16th and so I looked it up and found this from indywrestlingnews.com:
Friday, January 16, 2009
Northeast independent wrestler Paul E. Normus, born Paul Fuchs, passed away today. He was 33 years old. The cause of death is currently unknown.
Fuchs appeared on shows all over the Northeast and New England, and had recently appeared in “The Wrestler” in one of the movies locker room scenes. In addition to wrestling, he was into bodybuilding and was a certified trainer and nutritionist for 15 years. He also was an advocate for animals, particularly pit bulls, and even did an advertisement for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Our condolences to the friends, fans, and family of Paul E. Normus.
Also, WWE Superstar, Shad, from the tag team Cryme Tyme, had “Paul E” written on the tape on his hand on Monday night. I didn’t think about Paul E Normus because the only mainstream Paul E that I know would be Paul Heyman, and that really confused me. But he had it on his hands and he also posted a poem on his myspace page, which I’ll put here:
Needless to say, he wasn’t a friend, but we knew him. And I guess all I can say is thank you Paul.

PS I found this youtube video of his where he faced “Hot Shot” Mike Reed for the ECPW Championship. I wasn’t around for this one, I think this was from last January. But regardless, enjoy:
I met Paul in OVW. When he showed up I thought he was going to be a huge dick. He was one of the nicest respectful people I met there. Every morning at 8am I’d shake hands with people that I knew didn’t give a shit, but when I saw Paul I knew he was a real guy and it’s those kinds of people that will always leave you with good memories.
Actually i’m good friends with ecpw and my best friend call me the day of his passing i could not believe it …. that my friend …. my big bro was gone .. i consider all the ecpw stars as my brothers may they big or small they are like family to me if any of them were hurt or they may not pass away i will cry my heart and soul out ….anyway this is about paul he is and always be my brother and i miss him dearly and i know he watching over me and my best friend he’s a sweet heart and the best guy u’ll every met he always put a smile on ur face if u were ever down he would be there in a heart beat
~miss you Paul…. we all miss~
~IM MISS YOU PAUL~ -_-
I actually recently viewed The Wrestler and it was crazy seeing not only Paul E., but how many other wrestlers from ECPW (Andrew Anderson, Brolly, ect…) and I looked up on IMDB the wrestlers and I think there were a lot of others that probably only had a second or two on screen but are credited with being in the movie. I feel that Paul being in that movie is a nice testament to him, that he will forever be in such an acclaimed film.
