I’ve been waiting for today (not like having sleepless nights or anything but) since the finale aired and I heard on the podcast Skynext (Great podcast that I enjoy very much, they even had Brian Austin Green on there towards the end. Derek and Steve are the two guys that run it, Steve also has another podcast that he is always referencing on the Skynext podcast called Geek Out Loud that’s pretty good too) that they were going to have to wait until May 18th to find out the news on whether or not the series was going to be picked up after the amazing second season along with the awesome season finale. How could anyone end on such a cliffhanger!
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chroinciles was probably one of the best written shows in years. I know that people didn’t give it the time of day simply because it was a Terminator show, but it had a fan base, a big one as far as I’ve heard and I’ve seen on-line in the hours leading up to today. There are a lot of angry people who, at the very least, would like to see what was to happen after the season finale.
I also watched Dollhouse, which was created by Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Firefly) and I am happy that they were renewed for a second season, but they should have kept the two shows together. I hate to sound pessimistic, but Fox didn’t give Dollhouse a good lead in for their show. If you were planning on doing a sci-fi show (ala The X-Files, Sliders, Millenium–yeah, I was around for the good ole days of sci-fi shows on Fridays on Fox, that’s when they really wanted to keep you home and watching television) then you can’t have comedy shows leading into Dollhouse. At the very least Terminator has a built in fanbase, especially with Terminator Salvation coming out this Friday! Renewed interest!
With all of that said, I am hoping someone like The Sci-Fi channel or USA network (whose motto for the last few years have been “Characters Welcome” well, if you really want some good characters and a great show, nab Terminator!). The Sci-Fi Channel really saved two shows from total exitintion a few years ago, one was Sliders–another show canned by Fox that lived for about two more seasons and Stargate SV1. Stargate continued on to multiple seasons (I think, to a certain extent, the original series is still going with direct to DVD and made for TV movies) as well as two more series: Stargate: Atlantis and Stargate: Universe. Stargate was salvage from Showtime who I believe after only a season (or two) was grabbed and saved by Sci-Fi who knew that they had something big on their hands. Imagine what Sci-Fi could do if they got Terminator.
Doing a little bit of research there are a bunch of “Save Sarah Connor” sites on the internet, like this one: Save the SCC . This site also had a page full of contacts to send to letters and e-mails to people at Fox, Warner Bros., The Halcyon Company, as well as to Sci-Fi and help get the word out that we want this show saved from total cancelation. And I’ll do one better than just post a link, I’ll post the contacts too:

Now, I’m all for people sending the letters and e-mails, but I just really want to see at least a farewell TV movie or something to give back to the fans. I mean, Fox had a show based on the Alien Nation movie way back in the 90’s that didn’t do so well, but there were enough fans that they gave it FIVE made for TV movies, and I remember watching them all! I can’t see why they can’t do that (AT LEAST).
Get the word out. We want Sarah Connor back! In any capacity!
