Anyway, not really an informative as the Dattoos post, but it brings up something to look for in the coming future.

Mind-Reading Computers
August 26, 2010Comments: 0Source: TelegraphBy: Daniel RohrIntel is hard at work creating a computer that can read your mind. It can literally interpret words as you THINK them and poop them out on your computer screen. The scientists leading the way on the project are mapping the activity the human brain goes through for every word. They will then use the activity map to match your brain activity to their database to get the words out of your head and into the computer
Currently, this can only be done using MRI-type machines, so don’t get your hopes up too high just yet. Each word is being mapped using a 20-question form to narrow down the precise brain activity they produce. The hope is that you can dictate a letter or do a Google search by doing nothing more than thinking of it. There are obviously some huge privacy concerns that arise from this but it’s too early to worry about those just yet.
In my opinion, this could be a cool idea but do you know how hard it would be to dictate a document using your brain? I don’t know about you guys but there is no way my mind is staying focused on one thing and only one thing for an extended period of time. Eventually I’m going to think about food, going to the bathroom, or sneaking away to play a video game or something. How could mind-reading possibly be effective when this is generally my thought progression at any given moment:
Hey, I should focus on the work in front of me. Nah…
