You can always tell when I’m busy on a Friday, I don’t get to post the Entertainment Randomness right away, but do not fear! I am here and I am bringing you some of the biggest bits of entertainment news from this week!

Unlike last week, this week was pretty slow, let me know if you want me to be following anything!

Week of September 19th–23rd, 2011

Captain America starer Chris Evans was out this week doing his rounds for his indie movie “Puncture” and was quoted as saying that the next Captain movie won’t be out until 2014 and that Marvel doesn’t want to pump them out but to take their time with them. I have yet to see Captain America, but between Thor and Captain, I thought the look of Captain America was much better and more believable. Here’s hoping it doesn’t take me three years to see it…

The Robocop remake has found itself a new director in Jose Padilha and with it a new outlook that is different from the original Paul Verhoeven film. Padilha is quoted as say that with the remake he would like to not copy the original but “Instead I try to make a film that will address topics that Verhoeven untreated. If you are a man changes into a robot, how do you do that? What is the difference between humans and robots? What is free will? What does it mean to lose your free will? Those are the issues that I think.”I for one don’t like the fact that they are remaking the movie, but at least it isn’t a complete rehash from the original.

Thor 2 has a director in Patty Jenkins (director of “Monster”), which was considered an odd choice until you think that original Thor director Kenneth Branagh was also not the first thought for a director of a comic book movie. Also, word coming out of the Thor 2 camp is that the characters will continue to explore the Nine Worlds that the comic explores. I’ll check out Thor on Netflix when I get around to it…

Resident Evil: Retribution seems to be bringing some characters back from the dead. A few weeks ago it was confirmed that Colin Salmon would be returning despite being killed off in the series. Now, word has it that Michelle Rodriguez, who starred along with Milla Jovavich in the first Resident movie, is coming back for the fifth installment. Something is going on!…

David Finch’s American adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has a long four minute trailer up and it can be viewed here:
