Variety is reporting that Fox has opted out of a ninth season for the medical drama after this current 8th season.

I for one will miss the show, but I have to say the 7th season was probably the best one, this current season has had a slow build (as I’ve noticed a lot of current Fox shows are having–like Fringe). I’m glad that they’ve had a good long run and that they have a chance to hopefully end the show with a good ending.
