Finally, something good coming from the Michael Bay camp. Paramount has halted any movement on the would be reboot. Rumor has it that script issues are holding the movie from going forward right now, if at all.
I’m also of the assumption that people are taking this summers list of flops and hits as a lesson. Movies like Disney’s ‘John Carter’ and Universal’s ‘Battleship’ are examples of what not to do with films. Don’t rush the movie out if the script in question, along with the final film are not 100% ready to be. ‘The Avengers’ was a film that Marvel took the time over the course of the last four-five years to develop and mold.
If the recent hold on ‘GI Joe: Retaliation’ is any indication, studios want to make sure that they are going to be getting money back on their investment. I can see Paramount not wanting to move forward with a stupid (my own opinion, shared by 99.9% of the world by the way) ‘Ninja Turtles’ reboot that would have seen the Turtles origin from an Alien world. I for one am happy that it has been halted. Give it to someone that would like to see it succeed and pay homage to the real story, not butchered into a possible franchise for the sake of a franchise.
What do you think about this news? Your thoughts on Michael Bay? Best ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ incarnation (cartoon, comic, movie–there are actually a bunch of variations between those three genres to choose from too)? Favorite Michael Bay movie–if you have one?
