2012 Box-Office
Source: Dark Horizons
Now that 2012 is in the can, the grosses, domestically and worldwide, for the box-office have been tallied and I have to say it is quite impressive. Three movies crossed the billion dollar mark worldwide and (upon doing a little bit of research) that means it has tied with 2011 with three films crossing the 1 billion mark. That’s amazing!
There are now 14 movies that have crossed that point (two of which that have crossed 2 billion, both directed by James Cameron).
Here is the list of domestic grosses:
- Marvel’s The Avengers – $623.4m
- The Dark Knight Rises – $448.1m
- The Hunger Games – $408.0m
- Skyfall – $289.6m
