Movie Trailer Cut to Two Minutes
Source: Dark Horizons
Looks like all movie trailers might be cut down from the current 2.5 minutes to 2 minutes. Granted, 30 seconds less doesn’t seem like much, but when you have 30 more seconds to make a sell on something that is a world of difference.
The National Association of Theater Owners (also known as NATO, which mind you completely threw me off when I read the article) have had many complaints about trailers being too long and giving away too much of the plot, so they have requested that the MPAA make it mandatory that all trailers be exactly 2 minutes long.
I honestly don’t mind trailers, I like watching them and always have. My one complaint is that I wish they had better movies. Can’t do much about that…
