Rush Hour 3 info

Loved the first two films, and I thought at one point that this one would never be made, seeing how long of a gap there was. I just thought they didn’t want to do it. I’d go see it, the second one was even better than the first and I enjoyed both of them.

New Line’s rushing to start “Rush Hour 3” officially greenlighting the sequel with the aim of launching production in late summer and releasing it next summer reports Variety.

“Rush Hour 3” will be set in Paris, where Tucker and Chan’s characters will battle a wing of the Chinese organized crime family, the Triads. The previous two films have earned in the realm of $600 million worldwide, this one has been in development for almost five years but hasn’t come together due to scheduling difficulties.

New Line signed Chris Tucker, Jackie Chan, director Brett Ratner and screenwriter Jeff Nathanson last fall to reunite for the sequel but had the option to greenlight the pic up til the end of this week.

Tucker will earn $20 million against 20% of gross along with a second-picture commitment for the same salary on a film to be determined later. Chan will get around $15 million against 15% of gross and own distribution rights in China and Hong Kong.

This was Brett Ratner’s baby, glad to see that he is now becoming the new Richard Donner.

I don’t think it will suck. Recently sequels tend to be better quality then they used to be. RH2 was good, in fact I think it was better than the first one.

Very true. I guess I’m less likely to think anyone will be involved with this movie to make it suck.

Then again, if this movie sucks, it’s not as bad as if Indy 4 sucks.
