I bought the first score cd for Pirates and I’ll probably buy the next one, great music, I hope that they keep the same theme and the same composers.

Walt Disney Records will release Hans Zimmer’s original music for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 2: DEAD MAN’S CHEST on July 4. It will be a score album featuring the orchestral music Hans Zimmer begins to record at the Sony Scoring Stage in Los Angeles this week. The music for the first film, released in 2003, was composed by Klaus Badelt and a group of other composers and produced by Hans Zimmer. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley all return in the sequel, and they also star in the third film, which is also being scored by Hans Zimmer. DEAD MAN’S CHEST will open theatrically on July 7.

I didn’t need to see what the first film’s composer was I knew that it had something to do with Hans Zimmer, even though he didn’t compose it officially I know that his influence was deeply in it, you can just tell. He’s probably one of my favorite composers ever. I also own the Score to THE ROCK, which is another one of my favorite scores to listen to. Not that I do it much anymore. But if I need to get inspired by music, I go nuts!

I’m so happy that Hans Zimmer will be doing the music himself this time around and I’m hoping for a great score for both Dead Man’s Chest and Pirates 3.
