Len Wiseman to direct “Mummy” Reboot

Word coming out today that the proposed Reboot for “The Mummy” series will be directed by “Underworld”, “Live Free or Die Hard” and “Total Recall” (2012)  director Len Wiseman.

I was never a big fan of the 1999 “The Mummy” as I thought it was too comedic with not enough action, which I felt the sequel “The Mummy Returns” perfected. Sadly, they killed the franchise in 2008 with “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” and probably should have just left the series at 2 movies since “Returns” did a great job of bringing closure to the franchise.

The upcoming reboot should bring the series into a completely different direction as the writers are bringing the action to modern day.
