I’ve been on a WWE kick recently…
I recently purchased the WWE Elimination Chamber DVD set that has all of the Elimination Chamber matches and I’ve started watching it in the mornings before I go to work. I actually re-watched the original one from Survivor Series 2002, which I always thought was great, and I found it very slow. I had read on some blogs, namely by Scott Keith (Scott’s Blog of Doom) that they:
“…never thought this was such a hot idea for a match in the first place, but they sunk a LOT of money into developing and building the equipment, so you knew it was going to be a yearly thing whether we liked it or not.”
I was completely confused by this, I thought the first one was fantastic. But, like when I re-watched Face/Off last summer or every freaking cartoon that I loved when I was a child, and especially Dinosaurs TV show, the let down of knowing what I originally thought was an amazing thing was really a little lower on the expectations and should have been left simply as a memory.
Anyway, I love how I completely talk about everything but the title to the post, I purchased the Elimination Chamber anthology and that leaves me open to buy the long awaited Chris Jericho DVD. On a side note, how dare they make a John Morrison DVD before a Chris Jericho DVD! Jericho has always been a favorite. Back in the late 90’s I wasn’t much of a wrestling fan outside of late 98 and beyond that. But my first introduction to Jericho is this:
Needless to say, I’m happy that he’s completely changed his look and is a much more believable character now than he was in the early goings of his WWE career.
Also, when he had his 2nd Coming back into the WWE, I posted about that and I posted all of his titantrons up until that point back in Dec. of 07, Break the Walls Down. (both links had me go back to the livejournal Cos Blog, seeing that none of the youtube videos from before the switch to this one could transfer. It’ll be like visiting an old friend).
Anyway, here is the cover box art and the DVD information:
