Paul Heyman writing Autobiography

Cos

I heard a few months ago that Paul Heyman, the mind behind the original ECW,  was writing Brock Lesnar’s biography (with Brock) and now comes word that he is currently working on his own autobiography.

If this is true, that would be an amazing read, as one of the best innovative minds in wrestling of the mid to late 90’s, I  really look forward to getting it when it comes out next summer.

Breaking News on Paul Heyman’s Upcoming Autobiography
by Nick Paglino
Nov 29, 2010

While there has been talk here at Crave Online’s family of websites that Paul Heyman was not only co-authoring the Brock Lesnar autobiography for 2011 release, but also his own autobiography as well, the news didn’t become official until Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com broke the story earlier this evening.

Johnson revealed the working title of the book is The Heyman Hustle: Wrestling’s Most Extreme Promoter Tells All, published by Gallery Books and scheduled for a Summer 2011 release.

This is an interesting piece of news, because Gallery Books is the new combined division at Simon and Schuster, merging the Pocket Books hardcover and trade paperbacks, and Simon Spotlight Entertainment imprint into one larger and more powerful imprint. Gallery has been huge with the Oprah-crowd, publishing controversial, confessional books like last year’s monster hit from Mackenzie Phillips. Pocket Books is home to authors like Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, and Kresley Cole.

Heyman’s decision to write a book has been mostly kept under wraps. When I met Heyman during a taping of The Heyman Hustle with Ken Anderson in Times Square over a year ago, I asked him about the possibility that he’d write a book about his experiences one day, and he seemed very reluctant at the time. However, rumors started swirling about a book when Jim Ross revealed in a blog that Heyman was working on two books, not just the Brock Lesnar autobiography.

We’ll have more details on this potentially explosive autobiography as they become available.
