Starting a new, hopefully, weekly blog posting. Aptly titled “Entertainment RANDOMNESS”, I’m hoping to give you a week’s worth of random bits and pieces from the week. Let me know what you think or if there is anything that you’d like to see highlighted:
Entertainment RANDOMNESS:
Week of August 8th–12th, 2011
HBO has renewed it’s “True Blood” series for a fifth season. So, far I’ve been enjoying season 4, more so than I did the 3rd one and look forward to how this season ends and where they will take it.
Is nothing sacred in Hollywood? Lionsgate has taped choreographer Kenny Ortega to direct a remake of “Dirty Dancing”. Seems like you can add this classic 80’s title to the already growing list of films like “The Karate Kid” and “Total Recall”. We need originality!
Bruce Willis seems to be in negotiations for G.I. Joe 2″ to play General Joseph Colton–The First Joe. I like where they are going with the sequel so far. I recently saw the first one and hated it. They definitely put the wrong person at helm of that one. I hope they aim this one in the right direction.
Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson will be returning to star and direct (respectively) in the fifth Resident Evil movie, this one titled: “Resident Evil: Retribution”. I’ve never truly been a fan of the series, I’ve only seen “Apocalypse” and “Afterlife” in the theater, but I know Melissa loves them. “Retribution” will be set in Tokyo.
NBC has hired “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller to remake “The Munsters” show. This time around they want the series to be darker and edgier. I hope NBC realizes that they’ve had a long stint of poorly received remakes shows: Knight Rider, Wonder Woman…I hope they do ok with this one and not mess it up.
There is a trailer up for “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas” up on comingsoon.net, check it out, looks good. I’m just disappointed that they went the 3D route…
