After a couple months without any predictions (since Wrestlemania) the Ruthless Roundtable is back, albeit a smaller at the moment, but we’re working on it!
Today, we are predicting the matches for Night of Champions 2011! With the worst poster I’ve seen in a long time…just my opinion. And here we go!
Cos’s Night of Champions Predictions:
 Matches & Stipulations:
Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. John Cena
Singles match for the WWE Championship
I was so high on Del Rio earlier in the year, he now bores me, maybe its perhaps that I’m afraid the inevitable will happen and he’ll just get fed to Cena either this month or next month. But I’m sticking with him for at least one more month or one more Pay-Per-View.
Winner and Still Champion: Alberto Del Rio
CM Punk vs. Triple H
No Disqualification match; If CM Punk wins, Triple H resigns as COO of WWE
I’m torn with this one, I have a feeling that Punk needs to win to keep his momentum going, but I doubt that they’ll get rid of Triple H as COO. Unfortunately, they’ve corned themselves with the NO Disqualifications stipulation so they can’t get DQ or anything. My gut on this one is Punk wins and Triple H comes back anyway.
Winner: CM Punk
Kelly Kelly (c) vs. Beth Phoenix
Singles match for the WWE Divas Championship
Kelly Kelly seems to be holding onto that Divas Championship, but I feel like the end is near for her.
Winner and New Divas Champion: Beth Phoenix
Air Boom (Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. The Miz & R-Truth
Tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
I might not like the name Air Boom, but I like the “resurgence” or attempted resurgence at least of the Tag Team Division. I think Miz and Truth should call themselves Awesome Truth, why not? But it is too soon for them to steal the tag team gold away from Air Boom. October brings two back to back PPV’s and I’m sure they can keep this feud going throughout the month of October.
Winners and Still Tag Team Champions: Air Boom
Randy Orton (c) vs. Mark Henry
Singles match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Mark Henry has been looking pretty dominate but I don’t see Orton giving up the championship just yet. I feel like Orton will turn a World’s Strongest Slam into an RKO for the save this month, and the feud will just continue well into October.
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Jack Swagger vs. Alex Riley vs. John Morrison
Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE United States Championship
All four of these guys are great wrestlers and I can see all four of them doing this thing again in a few years with one of the World Championships (that is if they ever let them compete for those belts). Alex Riley still has some time, so I don’t think he’ll get it. John Morrison is just there for eye candy (either with the ladies for his looks or with his move set with the guys) I can see them switching the championship over to Swagger to further push his story with Ziggler and Vickie.
Winner and New United States Champion: Jack Swagger
Cody Rhodes (c) vs Ted Dibiasi
Singles match for the Intercontinental Championship
Cody Rhodes is on fire right now, no reason to take the Intercontinental Championship off of him and onto Dibiasi. I feel that after months of not knowing who had the IC Championship, I finally know where it is and I feel that it is back in prominent hands.
Winner and Still IC Champ: Cody Rhodes

Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Jack Swagger vs. Alex Riley vs. John Morrison
Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE United States Championship
I find it hard to imagine either babyface winning the title. I feel that Morrison is on his way out while Riley still doesn’t do it for me as a face. The real story will be Ziggler and Swagger continuing their struggle over Vickie Gurrero’s “servicesâ€. So I could definitely see Swagger winning the belt to add more fuel to the fire.
Winner and new U.S. Champ: Jack Swagger
Air Boom (Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. The Miz & R-Truth
Tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
What a cool way to rebuild the tag team division: Air Boom against the “Conspiracy Brothersâ€! Should be a nice back and forth matchup with a lot of fast-paced action in the ring. Although I think it’s too early to put the belts on Miz and Truth. Hopefully, Air Boom is being prepped up for a run against the new ROH arrivals, Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli.
Winners and still Tag Team Champs: Air Boom
Kelly Kelly (c) vs. Beth Phoenix
Singles match for the WWE Divas Championship
God I hope this is the night they pull the title off the Barbie doll and put it around the luscious waist of the Glamazon.
Winner and new Divas Champ: Beth Phoenix
Randy Orton (c) vs. Mark Henry
Singles match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
One of the reasons why Smackdown sucks right now is because there’s no one helping Randy Orton step up his game like CM Punk did to John Cena this past summer. Henry’s been trashing his happy Kool-Aid man image for months now and he’s become a far more dangerous threat to the Smackdown roster in recent memory. I’ll go out on a limb and say that with the lack of heels on the b-show, time to let the black man get his due after 15 years of employment.
Winner and new World Heavyweight Champ: Mark Henry
Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. John Cena
Singles match for the WWE Championship
Honestly, I don’t give a shit because it’s the same old shit. Cena wins the title by DEFAULT.
Winner and for the one millionth time WWE Champ: John Cena
CM Punk vs. Triple H
No Disqualification match; If CM Punk wins, Triple H resigns as COO of WWE
I’ve been listening to dozens of scenarios about this one for the last few weeks. So I’ll share mine. We get a brutal match much like Undertaker/HHH at Wrestlemania, Triple H gets the upper hand until Johnny Ace distracts the ref, Kevin Nash attacks the Game, and Punk gets the win. Triple H loses his COO power and either Ace takes over as an act of revenge for Mr. McMahon or Vinnie Mac himself resurfaces as the mastermind behind the conspiracy. Now the Game and Punk might have to put differences aside to battle Nash… and the CONSPIRACY BROTHERS!
Winner: CM Punk
Smark Central’s Night of Champions Predictions
Matches & Stipulations
Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. John Cena
Singles match for the WWE Championship
What I’d like to see: I’ll give you one guess…
What will happen: Every PPV I usually say Cena will win because that is what we get most of the time. However, I think this might be one of those rare occasions where the heel keeps the belt. Of course Cena will eventually win the title but for now Del Rio keeps it
CM Punk vs. Triple H
No Disqualification match; If CM Punk wins, Triple H resigns as COO of WWE
What I want to see: I want to Punk win, but the only way I see him winning is to turn heel again which is fine I’ll cheer him either way, but if he’s been in cahoots w/Laurenitis/Nash/whoever else thats gonna be hard to explain.
What will happen: Despite being the best performer in the company and carrying the show all summer, Punk will get buried by the King of killed pushes himself, HHH
Kelly Kelly (c) vs. Beth Phoenix
Singles match for the WWE Divas Championship
What I want to see: Real women’s wrestling which means Beth winning. Then again with all the other divas being factory made, it might not be so great either way.
What will happen: Beth should win this time
Air Boom (Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. The Miz & R-Truth
Tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
What I want to see: If there has one one other part of RAW besides Punk that has made it fun again, its Miz and R-truth. These two are just great together. I can’t believe I find myself laughing hysterically at Truth and the random stuff that comes out of his mouth. They’re not a true team, but they could certainly help carry a tag division that is still lacking in star power and it’d be leaps and bounds better than any of the the recent champs (Heath Slater, anyone?)
What will happen: Usually when new feuds begin the champion(s) win the first round. Plus, I don’t think their ready to yank the carpet out from Air Boom just yet despite their shitty name. Air Boom keeps it
Randy Orton (c) vs. Mark Henry
Singles match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
What I want to see: Mark Henry on the unemployment line. I know I bring this up a lot, but its only because I still can’t figure out why this guy has a job let alone a World title match. I guess its his size, but after that he’s got nothing to offer. Not to mention Smackdown is full of young talent that deserves a shot. I’ll take the lesser of two evils and take Randy.
What will happen: Cena Jr. wins again
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Jack Swagger vs. Alex Riley vs. John Morrison
Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE United States Championship
What I want to see: I know this title has basically been rendered meaningless, but I’d like to see Swagger get it. I’m just a big fan of his and think he deserves way better than the hand he’s been dealt. This guy’s career was de-railed by hot shot booking and giving him the U.S. title would get him right back on track
What will happen: WWE has an annoying habit of giving a guy a belt either too early or too late. My guess is their going to do the latter and put it on Riley who should have been given it right after his feud with Miz ended when he was on fire. Now he’s cooled off, but that won’t stop them from doing it.
