Steve Carell is making a deal to star for Universal in “Evan Almighty”, Universal’s proposed sequel to “Bruce Almighty” reports Variety.

Conceived for Jim Carrey until he declined to reprise his role in “Bruce Almighty,” sequel will take the news anchor character Carell played in that film and put him on an Almighty-inspired quest to build an ark in preparation for a great flood. Carrey isn’t expected to reprise his role from the original, nor will Jennifer Aniston.

Tom Shadyac will return as director, and Morgan Freeman is negotiating to encore as God. Steve Oedekerk wrote the script. Plans are for the film to begin production early next year.

Thanks to ‘Roberts’.

I don’t know how it’ll work out, but I hope for the best, I loved Bruce Almighty and if there was supposed to be a sequel then I kind of wish that Jim Carrey would have been in it. Oh well. Let’s see if it works.

PS I can only imagine what Evkoz will think about if he saw the poster for this on sale.

  1. Yes–I’m all for this. I’m even in negotiations to star in the film. But no one knows this….Evan Almighty—sounds good, doesn’t it???

  2. Man, a sequel? If it doesn’t star Jim Carrey or Jennifer Aniston, they better hope Morgan Freeman and Steve Carell decide to do it.

You’re right, too bad he doesn’t want to do a sequel…this movie was pretty funny.

  3. and I think a sequel would work well, but only if he’s in it. Evan wasn’t like the antagonist of the film, even though they did kind of apologize at the end of the film doesn’t mean that we still liked him. He was funny though. But I don’t think its leading man funny.

  4. Update your fuckin’ blog bitch you know there are a lot of people who rely on you to do it everyday and if you keep slackin on it than they will just get used to not checking it than you won’t have any blog supporters anymore, it’s all good but your still a little bitch HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
