Alba set for a remake

Today is just full of remakes, this one I don’t think that many have heard of, but the concept sounds pretty freaky.…come on now, who else would it be?

Lionsgate has picked up the American remake of Hong Kong thriller “The Eye” out of turnaround from Paramount and is negotiating with Jessica Alba to star reports Variety.

The original film told the story of a cornea transplant recipient who sees disturbing images in the mirror that send her on a quest to find out what happened to the eye’s previous owner.

Cruise/Wagner persuaded Paramount to buy the remake rights in 2002 and got close to making it with Renee Zellweger. When Zellweger dropped out, the studio dropped plans to do it.

French helmers David Moreau and Xavier Palud to direct, and shooting is slated to begin at year’s end. Alba would make “The Eye” once she wraps work on the “Fantastic Four” sequel.

I think it sounds like a damn good movie, lets hope that whoever makes it doesn’t fuck it up, it has potential to be a great horror/thriller.

  1. heheehehehe

    so true.

they are also doing a second Hulk movie. But a Marvel Hulk movie, then what was the first one!!!

  2. The first one? An “oops” that cost them a lot of money. At least they’re giving Hulk a second chance, I don’t think a minor character like Elektra will get that. Not even Daredevil.

I wonder who’s next…after Iron Man, Wolverine, and Magneto. Captain America? Hawkeye? Thor?

  3. who knows, they seem to be shying away from smaller comic book heros and mostly trying to make the bigger names now after a whole bunch of failures.

  4. I’m not planning on responding to all of the comments you sent me, just some choice ones, but this one is interesting, I don’t remember posting it. But it was from 2006 and I just saw the movie recently. It came out a few months ago and I had it sent to me via Netflix when it came out on dvd. It was stupid. But its interesting that I actaully posted something about it being done. It must have been a slow day that day.

  5. Which movie did you just see? The Eye? Iron Man?

I heard Iron Man kicked ass! The new Hulk movie apparently sucked, again, which is sad because I like Edward Norton.

Also, they’re totally going to do an Avengers movie! So, all of those other superheroes I named will be in a movie after all, nice!

  6. Not crazy about an Avengers movie just like I’m not crazy about a Justice League movie. They all smell of nothing good as they usually are never within the relm of true canon in the comic book world. I hate those stories.

Also, I saw The Eye. It sucked. Haven’t seen Iron Man or Hulk yet.

  7. Ha, I had never heard about The Eye even coming out.

The Justice League movie sounds like it’s going to suck. Don’t think I read about this here, but the people behind the Justice League movie want to recruit a Batman, but nobody’s taking the part (everyone highly respects Christian Bale, and doesn’t want to step on his toes).

I’d hope Marvel would do a better movie for The Avengers, but you never know. They got Sam Jackson to be Nick Fury, so they’re off to a good start!
