Pirates breaks another record!

Holy crap! Pirates are kicking even more ass!

This one is actually from IMDB.com, check it out:

Pirates Sets Another Record
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest is no peg leg. The movie appeared to show sturdy legs Monday when it grossed an additional $18.1 million — the most ever earned on a non-holiday Monday. The previous record of $14.4 million was set last year by Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. The film has now raked in $153.8 million in four days. Several writers are now speculating that it could go on even to surpass the current domestic box-office record gross of $600.8 million set by Titanic in 1998.

Wow, 600 million (in the US only) is a lot. I don’t know if it’ll make it all the way to the top just yet. But we’ll see. Most people think it might actually be a CG movie, like maybe Shrek 3 or something, seeing that the second Shrek made it to the top three. Those films tend to be shorter (an hour and a half usually) and tend to bring in all sorts of little kids and their parents. Although, Pirates does have a universal appeal. According to reports from this past weekend, they couldn’t say that a specific group of people went to see the film, because they were all across the board. So, who knows. That would be awesome if it did topple Titanic.
