Barack Obama beats John McCain to become the 44th president

I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m at a point, at this very moment, that I feel like I witnessing history. That I’m about to head into an era that will be remembered forever. Like a Kennedy era, or FDR era or Lincoln era. With Barack Obama winning, I am, for the first time in a long time, feeling really optimistic about things in this country. Like things might actually start working towards actual goals as opposed to fictitious and imaginary ones.

We stayed up to watch Obama’s speech and I thought it was a great. Everything was said the exact way it should have been said and everything happened the way it should have been. I know a lot of people went into the election with different intentions. But in the end it wasn’t about Black or White, it was about change, and the face of change was Barack Obama; and after eight years in a decrepit stalemate that dug us deeper into a hole than anyone ever thought possible, finally, I think, we’re seeing a change. And if the analogy is that we’re in a hole, perhaps the change that we’re all seeing is a little bit of daylight from above…
