I’ll be busy for about a week or so, I know I haven’t posted much these past couple of days, but I’ve been busy. Don’t expect another post for about another week or so. I’ll update my twitter more than I’ll be updating the blog. When I get back on-line I’ll probably have a couple of things to post!

So that this makes sense, I was really supposed to post this a while back, but I had wanted to post finalized picture but I just haven’t had a chance to go back to it.
Anyway, while Jenna and Lou were (and still are) making plans for their wedding in September it came up that they should go with this DJ named DJ Peanut. I thought that was a great name and decided to use a picture of Peanut and put him on top of a turntable.

One of my former students came in, she does it on occasion, to show me some of her drawings and she saw a picture of Peanut on my desktop. She asked if she could draw him and I said sure! She had drawn him last year around this time. When I went to print out the pic she saw the pic of him being a DJ and said that that pic looked like it would be fun to draw so I printed that one out of him. She then returned at the end of the day with this great little drawing of him:

Along with Twitter is an option to upload pics directly to its sister site, Twitpic. I’ve been hesitant to add pics to twitter thinking it would take away from visiting my blog, but at the same time there are pics that I wait to post on the blog and by the time I get around to doing it they are old or irrelevant.
So, maybe this will help to speed the process up or to at least remind me I have some pics that I have to post.
Follow the link to see the first one: Cos’ Blog first twitpic.
Also, I posted a perminant link on the side in case anyone would like to visit it from time to time.

I won’t be waiting for this one to be a Christmas present. This is the third Robert Langdon novel that Dan Brown has written. I can’t wait.

From Danbrown.com:

New York, NY (April 20, 2009) Dan Brown’s new novel, the eagerly awaited follow-up to his #1 international phenomenon, The Da Vinci Code, which was the bestselling hardcover adult novel of all time with 81 million copies in print worldwide, will be published in the U.S. and Canada by Doubleday on September 15, 2009.
The Lost Symbol will have a first printing of 5 million copies, and it will once again feature Dan Brown’s unforgettable protagonist, Robert Langdon. The announcement was made today by Sonny Mehta, Chairman and Editor in Chief of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group.
“This is a great day for readers and booksellers,” said Mehta.”The Lost Symbol is a brilliant and compelling thriller. Dan Brown’s prodigious talent for storytelling, infused with history, codes and intrigue, is on full display in this new book. This is one of the most anticipated publications in recent history, and it was well worth the wait.”
Brown’s longtime editor, Jason Kaufman, Vice President and Executive Editor at Doubleday said, “Nothing ever is as it first appears in a Dan Brown novel. This book’s narrative takes place in a twelve-hour period, and from the first page, Dan’s readers will feel the thrill of discovery as they follow Robert Langdon through a masterful and unexpected new landscape. The Lost Symbol is full of surprises.”
“This novel has been a strange and wonderful journey,” said Brown. “Weaving five years of research into the story’s twelve-hour timeframe was an exhilarating challenge. Robert Langdon’s life clearly moves a lot faster than mine.”
The audio version of The Lost Symbol will be published in North America in September by Random House Audio.
The Da Vinci Code, published by Doubleday on March 18, 2003, spent 144 weeks on The New York Times Hardcover Fiction bestseller list, 54 of them at #1—the position at which it debuted. The novel has been translated into 51 languages.
The film of The Da Vinci Code was a #1 box office smash when it was released by Columbia Pictures in May 2006 with Ron Howard directing and Tom Hanks starring as Robert Langdon. Box office receipts were $758 million. The same team will release Angels and Demons theatrically worldwide on May 15, 2009.
Following the publication of The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown’s earlier novels, Digital Fortress, Deception Point and Angels and Demons have all gone on to become multi-million copy international bestsellers.
The Lost Symbol will be published in the U.K. on September 15th by Transworld Publishers, a division of The Random House Group who has published all of Brown’s novels.
Dan Brown is represented by Heide Lange at Sanford J. Greenburger Associates, Inc.

After posting the last entry about Jurassic Park, I type Michael Crichton’s name into google to see if his website was still up and if they had any news about any potential publishing of works that he may have been working on. Sure enough, Pirate Latitudes is coming out this Fall! November 24, 2009. Ohh man! Add this to my 2009 Christmas list!

From crichton-official.com:

| Discovered among Crichton’s files after his passing last fall, Pirate Latitudes is an adventure tale unlike anything Crichton readers have seen before. Demonstrating the versatility and raw storytelling power of this master of suspense, it is sure to generate tremendous reader interest and media coverage.

The Caribbean, 1665. A remote colony of the English crown, the island of Jamaica holds out against the vast supremacy of the Spanish empire. Devoid of London’s luxuries, Port Royal, its capital, is a cutthroat town of taverns, grog shops, and bawdy houses. In this steamy climate, life can end swiftly by dysentery—or dagger. But for a daring soul like Captain Edward Hunter, this wild outpost in the New World can also lead to great fortune, if he abides by the island’s code. In the name of His Majesty King Charles II of England, gold in Spanish hands is gold for the taking and the law of the land rests with those ruthless enough to make it.
Word in port is that the Spanish galleon El Trinidad, fresh from New Spain, is awaiting repairs in nearby Matanceros. Heavily fortified, the impregnable Spanish harbor is guarded by the bloodthirsty Cazalla, a favorite commander of King Philip IV. With the Jamaican governor’s backing, Hunter assembles a crew of ruffians to infiltrate the enemy island and commandeer the galleon and its fortune in Spanish gold. The raid is as perilous as the bloodiest tales of Matanceros legend, and Hunter will lose more than one man before he makes it onto the island’s shores, where dense jungle and the firepower of Spanish infantry stand between him and the treasure.
With the help of his cunning band, Hunter hijacks El Trinidad and escapes the deadly clutches of Cazalla, leaving plenty of carnage in his wake. But the danger—and adventure—are only just beginning. . .
Apparently, there is another book coming out in 2010…I’m so excited.
PIRATE LATITUDES to be released November 24, 2009
Michael’s fans will be happy to know that two new novels will be published in the coming months. Click below to learn more and check back here for all the latest information …
On a side note, it looks like I’ll have two books to read this fall, Pirate Latitudes and Dan Brown’s upcoming Robert Langdon novel The Lost Symbol…hmm, did I write about this one yet?

I had a feeling that once they didn’t get this one moving after the third one came out, back in 2001, that it probably was never going to happen. Also, what with writer/creator Michael Crichton having passed away along with special effects/make-up artist Stan Winston also passing away last year, both of which worked on the Jurassic project, I didn’t see this one coming through at all.
Another one from moviehole.net:
Jurassic Park 4 extinct, says producer
Author: Clint Morris Date: Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 Time: 1:08 am

You kids can stop crafting those mock “Jurassic Park 4” posters in PhotoShop – because the film is unlikely to ever happen, thus, there won’t be any fansites wanting your rapidly-produced homemade one sheets.
Producer Frank Marshall tells io9 that the once-as-good-as-greenlit fourth installment has been put on the back-burner, adding that it’s a “long-shot” in terms of it ever happening.
More likely to come to fruition is Marshall’s remake of Wolfgang Peterson’s “NeverEnding Story”.

This may be a little premature seeing that no one really knows what is going on with the project just yet. Personally I say wait until he’s done with his next movie, he did shoot The Prestige right after Batman Begins came out, so you never know, he may just want to tackle it on its own. He seems to be the type of director that handles one film project at a time. Besides, moving on without him would be stupid, he’s the mastermind behind the resurgence of the Batman movies.

Nolan not returning for Batman 3?
Is Christopher Nolan clearing his stuff out of the Batcave?
Author: Clint Morris Date: Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 Time: 2:08 am
A trusted industry source tells Batman-On-Film.com that Nolan, helmer of “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight“, might not be returning for the foreseeable third film in the bank-busting series. And considering Nolan has been taking his time in agreeing to a third film (though some say the “Interception” agreement enclosed a promise from the filmmaker that he’d also give them a third “Batman“), that’s probably easier to believe than we’d like it to be.
It’s understandable the guy probably feels he’ll never top “The Dark Knight” – because most of us feel the same way. It can’t… won’t… be topped. There has to be a reason, besides cabbage, for the guy to come back. Even Christian Bale feels the same way. He’s not a sure thing either. Obviously the talent, and the WB have different reasons for doing another – though I don’t doubt they’d like to make a good film, Benjamin’s are their first priority – and if I was a betting man, I’d say lay some chips down on the studio putting this into production before Nolan and Bale are ready to go.
But if Nolan doesn’t want to return, it’s fair enough. After all, he’s a director who likes to do original, fresh stuff, so two films set in Gotham City may be enough for him. It was for Tim Burton.
But according to the site, the main reason why Nolan is reluctant to sign on involves Heath Ledger… and the Joker.
Ledger’s death rocked Nolan so much that he reportedly decided then-and-there that “Dark Knight” would be his last Batman movie. And also, says the site, Warner wants to have The Joker back in the third film (as Moviehole told you last year) – and Nolan, understandably, isn’t keen on that. And who can fuckin’ blame him!?
It’s absolutely ridiculous to even consider recasting the role.
Scribe David Goyer told me a couple of years ago that the plan was – remember, Heath Ledger was still alive at the time – to have The Joker AND Harvey Dent appear in both ‘’The Dark Knight” AND the film that followed it. I think it goes without saying that the plans to carry the characters over to a second film were abandoned when Ledger passed away. And from what I’ve heard, with the passing of Ledger, he treatment for the third film has all but been tossed out.
Still…I don’t doubt Warner are considering bringing The Joker back – and trying to get someone liker a Depp or a Bettany – for the next film, if even to make a small appearance, but it’s the wrong way to go. They need to let the character rest now.
So, if this is true, and Nolan isn’t keen on doing another “Batman” movie, where-to?
Well, according to the site, it means the Batman franchise is “back to square one”. That means, anything’s possible – a “Batman Vs. Superman” film could happen, a “Batman : Year One” could be discussed, or – god forbid – Joel Schumacher may sequelize “The Dark Knight”, whacking some nips on new Batman, Colin Farrell. Fuck, maybe they’ll even do a prequel to the prequel… with a 14-year-old Bruce Wayne losing his cherry to that slut Poison Ivy.
But look, this is just scuttlebutt at the moment, and Nolan hasn’t officially ruled out directing the film.. but fuck, what a frightening hypothetical, hey!?
Surely not… right? right!?

If the movie is as good as this trailer, I don’t think director (writer) Roland Emmerich will ever be able to top this one.

Mick Foley is in the process of writing his FOURTH autobiography. By all standards, that’s a lot!, but seeing how I did really like his first two (the first one will always be for me, the greatest of the wrestling autobiographies. It was never touched or tarnished and as far as I’m concerned, it’ll stand the test of time. My only regret is that when I read it, I was still relatively new to watching wrestling and didn’t know many of the people that he names in the book that I’m sure I know now and probably would do well with re-reading it…that is, if I can find time to read and actually READ!). I read his second book, it wasn’t nearly as good as the first, but it still has his style of writing. And most recently (probably like three years ago) I bought and attempted to read his third book, but I had trouble with it. Its still sitting waiting to be finished. I would highly be interested in finishing it, but every time we get into something really interesting, he interjects some other rant of a story, or something not even wrestling related. And I’m not one to skip, I have to read every damn page. So I stopped. It was that simple.
This next book seems like it could be interesting. Unlike the last two books, I’m looking forward to this one being more like the first one, long and completely un (WWE) edited. I might try to dust off the third one before this one comes out and I’ll most likely buy the next one.

Knoebel’s Grove
First, I’d like to thank whoever it was that pointed out that “imput” which I’d used a few times in these blogs, isn’t even a word. It’s “input”. Apparantly I’d been making that same mistake my whole life.
I talked with an old friend of mine yesterday, asking if she’d mind being named as the sole reason I got my lone tattoo 28 years ago. Sometimes you never know. I had one friend who has vowed never to talk to me again, after being mentioned in “Have a Nice Day”, and has so far made good on that vow, even though the things I wrote about her were actually kind of flattering. Apparantly, however, her former elementary school students were coming back years later, asking her out on dates, which she felt was a poor reflection on her as a teacher. So, I learned that the best thing to do is get approval before writing, or else play it safe and use a different name. Fortunately, my friend Diane had no reservations about being in the book, and had no idea that she was the inspiration behind the inking back in a time when tattoos on high schoolers were a pretty rare thing.
After talking to Diane, I flipped through “Tha Hardcore Diaries” for the first time in a while, and could finally see why so many people within WWE were rumored to be less than thrilled with me after the book’s publication. I was really pretty rough on the company, and three years after writing it, I’m shocked that the powers that be (mainly Vince) allowed so many negative musings to be published. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t personally regret writing any of it, but I am really surprised that the book wasn’t edited down to matchbook size.
I think most of you will enjoy the new book I’m working on, “Crossing the Line”, which is coming along nicely. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I will try to give out a little sample here and there – which is the case this week, as I update lists of favorite things from “Foley is Good”, in a chapter I will call, “A Few of my Favorite Things”. This past weekend, I was thrilled to visit Santa’s Village, along with Storyland and Six Gun City in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Many of you know of my fondness for Santa”s Village from past books, so I won’t get into that here. Instead, I’d like to write about Knoebel’s Grove Amusement Resort in Elysburg, Pa. – an incredible place I visited with two of my children a week earlier. So here it is, a sneak peek at “A Few of My Favorite Things”, from “Crossing the Line” to be published in the winter/spring of 2010 by Grand Central Publishing.
Hold on, not so fast. It appears as if that sneak peek will have to wait a couple of hours, as my son Dewey needs to use the computer to do his homework, which I should point out, should have been done last night.

It was like two years ago when I came out and said I was done posting ANYTHING about Indy IV and not too long after that, it was made official, they were making the forth installation. About a year ago I posted about George Lucas coming up with a story for a fifth Indy movie (George Lucas on Fifth Indiana Jones). Today, Darkhorizons.com has another update:
Next “Indiana Jones” Gearing Up?
By Garth Franklin Wednesday June 17th 2009 05:01AM
Talking with BBC News, actor Shia LaBeouf says another “Indiana Jones” film is moving forward.
“Steven [Spielberg] just said that he cracked the story on it before I left and I think they’re gearing that up,” said the “Transformers” actor.
As for the “Wall Street” sequel, it looks as if the title has reverted to the old one of “Money Never Sleeps”.
