Peanut and Cassie react to Melissa getting home

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Cassie is easy to see in this video, but Peanut is that dark little blob in the left side of his cage. Pay close attention to him, his ears and head pop up at the same time that Cassie pops up when they hear the door opening up.

Cassie goes swimming in pool

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Last Saturday, squeezed between writing and camping, Cassie got a chance to go swimming in Bruce and Paula’s pool in their backyard, and she loved it! Click the pic below to see pics and below them are videos. Enjoy!

Peanut Chew and Cos

Friday, July 31st, 2009

I have a bunch of pictures and posts the next few days, with Cassie’s birthday and some pics of her swimming that I don’t want to have Peanut Chew forgotten in the mix of it all. So, here is one of my recent favorite pics of us together:

Tomorrow is Cassie’s birthday

Friday, July 31st, 2009

I meant to put this on the last blog entry, but today is the last date that Cassie will ever experience for the very first time. Notice how I wrote that, date, she will never have another one…wait, I lied, leap year…I’m so silly…

Lack of blogging

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Yeah, I know, I haven’t posted on here since last Wednesday…but I’ve been busy. I’ve been actively trying not to get caught on here when I could be writing my script. On Saturday, before going camping (yes, we went camping last Saturday) I was able to write about twelve pages worth of almost all description and action for–in my opinion–a pretty big scene. I was really please with my self.

Can’t say the same for this week though. Its been a hell of a week with barely any writing. I did remove a character that had actually changed twice for the beginning of the second act. The scenes that were removed with that character I feel speeds up the action. So, I guess it worked…On Saturday I got to page 77 (almost the 80 pages I had mentioned last week of wanting to get too) but because of the removal of a character I’m back down to 75 pages. No loss. In fact, seeing that I feel it runs smoother, I’m happier.

I will say that because the nature of the story (which, don’t bother looking for any explanation on it, I didn’t forget to post it, nor will you see a synopsis of it, I just don’t work like that. Most people won’t even know that I’ve written something until I hand them a printed version of it to read) I feel like I have 2 First Acts. If that doesn’t make sense, then maybe when I’m done with it, which will hopefully be before the end of August, you may just be someone who gets a chance to read it.

I have a couple of posts I’d like to get up here before the end of the day so keep an eye out for those.

Pirates 4 to start shooting spring of ‘10

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

This is exciting news, I just hope they don’t completely bring it down to the literal “core” as the head of Disney said. I wouldn’t mind a Pirate movie on the level of the first one; which, in my opinion, was the best of the three movies.

SDCC Exclusive: Pirates 4 Starts Shooting Spring ‘10!

Comic-Con is in full swing at this point, and ComingSoon.net got a surprise interview with Disney’s Head of Production Oren Aviv where we talked about the genesis of some of the projects they were showing at the con, though we did have a lot of questions about future Disney plans as well. One of the movies that’s still on the forefront of everyone’s mind is the fourth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Producer Jerry Bruckheimer told us a few weeks back that they were working on a script, but Aviv and Disney are definitely on board as we learned when we discovered that they have plans to be rolling film on the movie as early as next year.

“We’re going to shoot ‘Pirates 4′ in April and May of next year,” Aviv told us during our interview. “We are going to release it hopefully in 2011 is the plan.” He said that this time they would only be doing one movie this time that would “hopefully be the first of another trilogy.”

“It’s important to get the story right and it’s important to me to scale it down, because we can’t get bigger,” Aviv admitted. “The movies have subsequently gotten bigger and bigger and very complicated and they were satisfying on so many levels obviously, but I want to kind of reboot the whole thing and bring it down to its core, its essence, just characters.” He agreed that there is a lot of Captain Jack Sparrow’s back story that we haven’t seen yet without confirming or denying that we might see some of that in the fourth movie. Still no word on whether Gore Verbinski might come back for the fourth movie.

Look for our full interview with Mr. Aviv very soon. It will definitely be of great interest to anyone who is wondering how Disney has been making decisions about some of the movies they’ve been making and will make in the future.

Motivational Posters Of The Day

Stolen from List of the Day.

I’ve been bad with keeping up with the blog

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

I do have a couple of things to write about, but I’ve been trying my hardest to stay away from the internet, instead opting to stay downstairs and do whatever things need to be done around the house and outside in the yard as well as write. But, in terms of writing, I stay downstairs in the living room with my old lap top from my FDU days and I write and re-write scenes.

I’m currently about 59 pages into a sci-fi action/adventure script, I feel like I’m definitely going to go over the 120 pages (one page per minute method of screen writing) of a traditional screenplay, but I’m fine with that. I know I wrote a lot and that it’ll only be my first draft. But I feel like I’m not writing enough…not sure what to do…I know, simply turn the TV off, I’m sure Peanut and Cassie would be very happy about not hearing explosions, gun shots or laser blasts while they are trying to sleep during the day…

My goal for this week is to at least get to page 75-80, my projected end of the second act of the script. I doubt it’ll actually be the end of the second act, I’m not really following any form of writing at the moment and just getting thoughts down in the form of a screenplay. I mean its a linear story, starts at the beginning and it is currently in the (almost) middle. Its just taking a little longer than I expected. I keep coming up with ideas to add to things in the pages that I have already written, but that’s natural.

Anyway, I don’t like leaving blog entries without something visual, so I’ll post this picture I found on Facebook off of someone I went to high school with (he actually graduated the year after me) and I also trained in Tae Kwon Do with him. I’ll simply call him Dave.

Cassie and the Parade

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Old pics from Memorial Day. Just found them on the camera chip.

Cassie was having the time of her life, until the parade started…then the frightened Golden didn’t know what to do with herself…she was brave and returned, but ultimately had to be kept away…
