Up until today I have not heard a single thing about this movie. While at work I click on yahoo to see what–if any–movie reviews were up (seeing that my main critic, Roger Ebert, is out for a few month dealing with some medical stuff I need to get my kick somehow) I click on the Movie link and I saw this picture of this girl holding a gun and I had no idea what the hell this movie was about. But I kept it in the back of my mind.
Then, when I went to Short Hills mall with Adam (which I’ll get into more later when I post a Director’s Commentary up) to do some location scouting, we found ourselves wandering into the Apple store as if we were in a trance and I went to the computer and realized that they all have internet access. I proceed to show Adam what I found earlier (which I had actually known, as did he) when I typed in Ethan Ross into IMDB.com, it comes up to an actual personal who is called Ethan Ross (on a side note, Adam and I are trying to get our films onto IMDB.com so that we can start having an on-line profile) this Ethan Ross (the real person) works on films and he to my surprise worked on Smokin’ Aces, to which I told Adam I just saw that they posted a trailer for this and I proceeded to go to yahoo and we watched it, loud and proud, on a beautiful Apple lap top with a huge long flat screen. Here’s the trailer:

Synopsis:
Mob boss Primo Sparazza has taken out a hefty contract on Buddy “Aces” Israel (Jeremy Piven)–a sleazy magician who has agreed to turn state’s evidence against the Vegas mob. The FBI places Aces into protective custody-under the supervision of two agents (Ryan Reynolds and Ray Liotta) dispatched to Aces’ Lake Tahoe hideout. When word of the price on Aces’ head spreads, it entices a rogues’ gallery of bounty hunters, thugs-for-hire, deadly vixens and double-crossing mobsters to join race to rub out Aces.
Great cast, great trailer, looks like this one snuck right underneath of me, looks like a fine movie.
