James Franco and Anne Hathaway are hosting the Oscars?

Cos

As the years go by on the Oscars the choices for hosts tend to get more and more odd. Growing up it was Billy Crystal, which I decided to do a quick view on wikipedia.org and it looks as if he’s hosted 8 times. I thought he was the best host for the Academy Awards and I could never get past that. In fact, I still can’t; everyone, in my eyes, is held up to Billy Crystal’s performance as the host. He was one of the few people that would do (and could) do a song and dance comedy number at the beginning of the show. I was shocked to see that last year was hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin (who has one hosting job on the Oscar’s all his own). The Oscars are kind of like Wrestlemania, the Super Bowl, and the World Series of the awards shows. They are the grand daddy of them all and the award is the only true definition of excellence, even if there are a bunch of independent non-conformist that don’t like the way that sounds…aside from Academy Award winning (or Golden Globe winning) how many other awards get put on billboards? I’ve never seen Mtv Movie Award winner or Kid’s Choice Award winner or any of those BS awards. (We’re talking about film here people, don’t test me about Grammy Award or any of those).

Anyway, in recent years, they’ve been trying to get away from the stand up comedian style host and go with an actor (or actors–ie Multiple) Hugh Jackman was the first one I really questioned, why would they even go with him! Wolverine? I didn’t even remember last year’s choice(s) with Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. And this year they chose James Franco and Anne Hathaway? What is this the Mtv Movie Awards?

Now, I’m not knocking either one of them, Anne Hathaway is pretty and all, and I’m sure the girls love James Franco, but why would I tune in to see them?

You know who they were probably going for? The kids from Twilight…I bet that would have brought in a bunch of ratings! Why didn’t they do that!

Anyway, all I have to say is odd choice… from comingsoon.net:
