Really busy weekend, haven’t gotten a chance to post pics of Europe yet, but we’re at Melissa’s parents house and we’re just starting to watch a movie called “RED”.
Starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and a bunch of other really great actors; reason why I’m making it a big deal is because it was originally reviewed by Ato back in November when he saw it in the theaters (Ato reviews “REDâ€) and I’m hoping I like it just as much as he did. Hopefully I’ll get a review of it up later this week along with one for “I Am Number Four”.
Also, I just wanted to get something up on the blog
Saw it with my dad and sister – really enjoyed it! John Malkovich’s character is the best. Hope you like!
thanks man, I unfortunately missed something at the very beginning and decided not to watch the rest of it. But I’ve heard some great things about it and Red is at the top of my Netflix queue.
Oh yeah, beginning’s important. Give it a shot! Warren Ellis wrote the comic this was based off – I haven’t read any of his other stuff, but Transmetropolitan is supposed to be very good.
Anyway, worth checking out! I remember the first part of the movie being very cool.
I would love to get back into reading comics, it is something I have missed and would love to read the graphic novels. I recently read some of the classics, like Batman: Killing Joke, Batman: Death in the Family and Watchmen. All great, I just wish it didn’t take me twenty years to read them. I’d love to read Red and all the other really highly praised books. It would be fantastic! Do you read graphic novels at all?
I read Watchmen before the movie came out! Really enjoyed that one. Eventually, I think I’ll get to the good Batman comics. I started reading some of the older stuff, but the campiness just pissed me off. Batman doesn’t make puns! He is vengeance, he is the night! He’ll beat the shit out of you. 🙂
I’m currently reading Batman/Superman, which has its ups and downs.
Which Batman/Superman?
Ohhh, there’s a comic with the both of them in it – team-ups and whatnot. It’s interesting, because there’s almost opposites of each other. Batman’s a cynic, Superman’s an optimist. They both have the same goals, but different ways of accomplishing them.
It’s called Superman/Batman, I’m up to issue #60.
