The better late then never edition of Entertainment RANDOMNESS is upon us! What can I say, I was busy today…

I will say that this was a wet week. The weather kept me in my cave of a living room for the majority of the week. Not fun, not fun at all. It wasn’t that eventful of a week in entertainment either. The start of the fall season is keeping things quiet. The majority of everything that will be released next summer is either almost complete or currently in production.

Doesn’t mean that there aren’t some interesting things going on. Keep reading!

Week of September 5th–9th, 2011

Expendables 2 has been in the news this week with potentially 4 signings! First up was the rumored confirmation of Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Dam. This is exciting because of the fact that they were two individuals that were noticeably not in the first movie. Next up are Arnold <sP> and Bruce Willis, both of which had cameos in the first movie and have both officially signed on for expanded roles. Rumors from a few months ago were that Willis would be the main villain in the movie. Only time will tell as he is currently filming G.I. Joe 2 and will jump straight to Expendables 2. I for one am excited…

Ron Howard has just signed on to direct an original super hero script, entitled “364”. The story is about a man who has super powers on one day a year, the title comes from the other days of the year in which he doesn’t have his powers and what he does with his time. I hope this isn’t like the other original super hero movie that came out a few summers ago “Hancock” which looked to have so much more promise and ended up being flat…

Dexter

Dexter star Michael C. Hall is in negotiations for additional seasons of the Showtime hit cable show. Dexter is about a serial killer who kills other serial killers and will be debuting its sixth season this October. After last years dud of a fifth season, I’ve heard they are pulling out the stops to make this one huge. I for one hope it is big and wonder if we could get Showtime back just to watch it…

“Robopocalypse”, the hit book by author Daniel H. Wilson may have finally found financing by the combined efforts of Dreamworks and Fox. To be directed by Steven Spielberg, this sounds a great book and I hope to get it for Christmas 2011…

Back to the Future was trending big time this week (I even posted about it yesterday:  Back to the Future 2 sneakers: Coming Soon?) with the word that Nike was going to announce the “power lace” sneakers from the second movie. Word from the announcement is that Nike will be auctioning off 1500 of them on eBay and the proceeds will go to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s disease research. While the sneakers don’t actually power lace, they do light up for five hours at a time (they’ll obviously have to be charged once they are done). Can we say Christmas List 2011 or is it 12?…
