Tonight is the “Grand Daddy of Them All”, “The Showcase of the Immortals”, “Where it all begins…again…” wait, that last one didn’t make any sense…

This year, we’re at number 28, with the self proclaimed “Greatest Main Event in History” with The Rock versus John Cena.

Only time will tell if this Mania will be the greatest of all time or fall flat on its face.

The promoted card:

-John Cena vs. The Rock

Hell in a Cell Match:
-The Undertaker vs. Triple H. Shawn Michaels will serve as the special guest referee of the match.

WWE Championship Match:
-CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match:
-Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus

WWE Intercontinental Title Match:
-Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show

-Randy Orton vs. Kane

12 Man Tag Team Match For Control of Raw and Smackdown:
-Team Laurinaitis vs Team Long

Team Laurinaitis: David Otunga (Captain), Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre & The Miz

-Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs. Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres

And here are our predictions:

Cos

Cos’ WrestleMania 28 Predictions:

Divas Tag Team Match:
-Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs. Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres

Don’t care, I call this one the bathroom break. But WWE tends to like to give their celebrities the win so…

Winners: Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos

12 Man Tag Team Match For Control of Raw and Smackdown:
-Team Laurinaitis vs Team Long

Team Laurinaitis: David Otunga (Captain), Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre & The Miz
Team Long: Santino Marella (Captain), R-Truth, Zack Ryder, The Great Khali, Kofi Kingston & Booker T

If there ever was a match that screamed “creative has nothing for me” it is this match. Another one that I don’t care too much about. But I feel that Team Johnny is going to win this one.

Winner: Team Laurinaitis

-Randy Orton vs. Kane

Wow! So far, three matches and I could care less about what is going on here…

Winner: Kane

WWE Intercontinental Title Match:
-Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show

I like Cody, but I feel as if they are going to give the Big Show a IC title run for at least the time being (probably as a thank you for doing the job to Daniel Bryan back in December).

Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion: The Big Show

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match:
-Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus

I like Daniel Bryan as World Heavyweight Champion and this feud has nothing behind it. I feel as if the Rhodes/Show match has more built into it.

Winner and Still World Heavyweight Champion: Daniel Bryan

WWE Championship Match:
-CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho

Finally a match I care about! I feel as if they’ll go with a Jericho win with this one, just to push the feud another month or so.

Winner and NEW WWE Champion: Chris Jericho

Hell in a Cell Match:
-The Undertaker vs. Triple H. Shawn Michaels will serve as the special guest referee of the match.

The last real money maker of WrestleMania, so of course, The Undertaker!

Winner and 20 & 0 streak continued: The Undertaker

-John Cena vs. The Rock

The Main Event (wouldn’t it be a kicker if after all this they open the show?). As much as I want The Rock to win, I just have a strange feeling that Cena is going to win this one…but, if rumors are true, Rock does have two more Pay-Per-View matches in his contract…could this be the start of a series of matches?

Or is it the beginning of The Rock feuding with other WWE Superstars from the past? Lesnar?

I’m sticking with my gut even though I feel the opposite.

Winner: John Cena

Mother Brain’s WWE Wrestlemania 28 Predictions
By Mother Brain

Divas Tag Team Match:
-Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs. Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres

I can sum up this match in one sentence: Maria Menounos of Access Hollywood and Dancing with the Stars fame puts asses in toilet seats.

Winners: Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres

Team Laurinaitis: David Otunga (Captain), Mark Henry, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & The Miz vs. Team Long: Santino Marella (Captain), R-Truth, Zack Ryder, The Great Khali, Kofi Kingston & Booker T

It’s hard for me to see Teddy Long run both brands. I picture Miz putting the skull-crushing finale on Santino for the win and the evil Laurinaitis making the product a living hell for the entire summer.

Winner: Team Laurinaitis

-Randy Orton vs. Kane

Who cares?

Winner: Randy Orton

WWE Intercontinental Title Match:
-Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show

Who else is in the IC title scene right now? Is this WWE’s way of giving Big Show pity for his short World Heavyweight Title reign. You bet your fat ass it is.

Winner and new Intercontinental Champion: Big Show

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match:
-Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus

There has be no buildup or heat whatsoever with this match. It feels like there’s more focus on the Bryan/AJ relationship than having heat with Sheamus. So why should I care about this? Bryan squeaks out another victory. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

WWE Championship Match:
-CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho

For the first time since winning the title, CM Punk has a rival who has gotten under his skin. It’s a feud that will go on past Wrestlemania and I see Punk being too flustered to give 100% which will give Y2J the advantage and the title. Either way, the fans will be the real winners in what I hope will be match of the night.

Winner and new WWE Champion: Chris Jericho

Hell in a Cell Match:
-The Undertaker vs. Triple H. Shawn Michaels will serve as the special guest referee of the match.

As good as the promos have been leading into the match, they’ve also been repetitive. There’s some great drama involved with the Hell in a Cell scenario and HBK as the ref. But I still don’t see the Game as the “chosen one” to end the streak. Expect HBK to reluctantly count Triple H’s shoulders for the 3 count and Undertaker disappears forever… at least until next year’s Hall of Fame.

Winner: Undertaker

-John Cena vs. The Rock

This will ultimately comes down to who needs the win more. While Rock will have the hometown advantage, Cena is still the ultimate company man. His promos in the last few weeks prove that when Cena has a worthy opponent, he’ll step up his game. The momentum won’t last past this feud. But Cena has a lot more to gain for his career than Rocky who will ultimately return to making movies. Only 2 scenarios can go down: Cena wins clean or Rock barely wins but Cena comes off as the fan favorite (i.e. Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 13). I reluctantly go with the former because he kisses Vince McMahon’s ass to get all the protection he needs.

Winner: John Cena

Smark Central’s Wrestlemania 28 Predictions:

Before I get started on the whole predictions thing I just want to express that I think this has the potential to be a very good card, but then again I thought that last year before being bored and disappointed.  I don’t think it’s possible for the matches themselves to live up to the hype that has been put on them.  However, at the very least the card should entertain most fans.  With that said:

-John Cena vs. The Rock

What I want to see: I want to make one thing clear right from the get go.  I love the Rock.  Always have, always will.  The memories I have from him from my teenage years will remain with me forever and he is an enduring symbol of that time in the business.  I feel a lot of the criticism he’s taken from people who were supposedly fans of his has been unfair.  Maybe he’s not what he used to be, maybe we’ve all grown up and the penis and gay jokes are a little below us now, but that doesn’t mean the guy isn’t entertaining.  My only problem with this whole feud was how it’s been built.  Firstly, the year long build was too much.  I mean they’ve shown dozens of videos of these two from every different angle, they’ve bitched at each other on twitter and in person, but they’ve only been physically involved with each other on a very limited basis.  Now I don’t know how much of that is on Rock’s shoulders (due to movie obligations) or WWE’s (holding back in order to build more anticipation), but to me it is beyond worn out at this point.  I am so sick of these two hurling insults back and forth instead of fists.  I mean this is wrestling right?  If it is, no one backstage seems to remember or care.  Hopefully these two will actually have a match and not a pose down to see who can get more cheers.  I mean its not fucking high school, its WrestleMania.  With that said, obviously, I’d like Rock to win, but I’m a realist and a traditionalist.  John Cena HAS to win this match because whether we like it or not, he is the face of the business today.  You can’t have a guy who comes around a few times a year win this kind of match.  Not to mention maybe if someone finally passes the torch down to Cena, he will gain some kind of respect from the “real” fans.

What we will see: Probably a decent match with a lot of pacing and prodding, trying to get the fans worked up, but hopefully they stick to basics here and just wrestle.  Cena wins clean.

Hell in a Cell Match:
-The Undertaker vs. Triple H. Shawn Michaels will serve as the special guest referee of the match.

What I want to see: The end of era.  That’s what I want to see.  I want these two to end each other’s careers so maybe we can finally move on from the streak and from HHH being an in-ring performer.  It just feels like it’s time.  Don’t get me wrong, these two guys can still talk the talk, but walking the walk has become a chore especially for Taker who turned 47 last week.  I don’t want HHH to end the streak, but maybe they can book it so Taker wins and both guys are done for good.

What we will see: 20-0 is a nice number to end on, but I fear that WWE are not settled on a number and probably want Taker back for at least the next two Manias so I think the streak will continue as will the careers of both men.

WWE Championship Match:
-CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho

What I want to see: (I promise these will get shorter as we go).  Punk has been the guy carrying the company on his back since June and he deserves this win.  I know it’d probably be better for storyline reasons if Jericho won, but I think Punk needs this win to validate this ride he’s been on.  He can easily drop it to Jericho at the next PPV and continue feuding with him from there.

What we will see: One hell of a wrestling match from two of the best to ever do it.  They know the moves and more importantly, they know how to tell a story in that ring.  They don’t need the hype, they don’t need the gimmicks, they just need themselves and a ring.  Punk wins in a classic match.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match:
-Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus
What I want to see:  Unfortunately, after last year’s win at WrestleMania, the Miz had a historic fall to the bottom of the card.  He was such a good heel, but without the title, he lost all the momentum he had built to become a top guy.  I hope the same doesn’t happen to Daniel Bryan because he’s become so good in the heel role.  I mean he is HATEABLE.  Telling AJ her skimpy dress looked better on a mannequin was priceless television.  I just don’t see how you rip the title off a guy like that to give it to Sheamus.  Don’t get me wrong Sheamus is good, but he’s no Daniel Bryan.

What we will see: Sheamus will win to break the rumble “curse”, but it’s the follow up that I’m interested in.  Sheamus should be pushed as a future star, but Bryan is in his prime and should not be sent packing back to the mid-card just because he loses a title.
WWE Intercontinental Title Match:
-Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show

What I want to see: If Bryan has been the best heel these past six weeks, then Cody has to be right behind him.  Pointing out the Big Show’s most embarrassing WrestleMania moments has been great and it’d be a shame to see him lose the title to a big dumb goof whose only talent is injuring other wrestlers.

What we will see: This seems like a classic face win build up so Show will probably win, but let’s hope I’m wrong on this one.

-Randy Orton vs. Kane

What I want to see: I really could not care less about these guys or this match.  Kane has been put in dumb angle after dumb angle and Orton has just gotten beyond stale.  Even Cena has been a more compelling character than Orton lately.  It’s sad that if it wasn’t for the fact that their established talents, they wouldn’t even be on the card.

What we will see: Orton wins in a snoozer.
12 Man Tag Team Match For Control of Raw and Smackdown:
-Team Laurinaitis (David Otunga (Captain), Mark Henry, Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & Drew McIntyre) vs Team Long (Santino Marella (Captain), R-Truth, Zack Ryder, The Great Khali, Kofi Kingston & Booker T)
What I want to see: Usually these big tag matches are over and done with before you can blink, but this one has too much on the line for that to happen so hopefully they give it the time it needs and stops there.  If this turns into a 20 minute mess with each GM changing the rules and the women/mascots getting involved, it’s just going to turn into an overbooked mess.  I’m not a huge fan of Teddy Long, but I just can’t stand Laurinaitis on any level.  The guy can barely string a sentence together with that goofy raspy voice of his.

What we will see: I think, no I know Vince has a hard on for the Laurinaitis character which is why his team is going to win.  You could have Teddy win with Laurinaitis interfering with Teddy’s roster (since he’d still be I charge of talent relations), but then HHH won’t get his camera time so the odds of Teddy winning are not good.

Divas Tag Team Match:
-Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs. Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres

What I want to see: I already got what I wanted, Zack Ryder is not in this match (Thank you, God).  Seriously though, how about a title match?  Or at least a match that doesn’t involve Kelly Kelly?   Is it really too much to ask?

What we will see: The regular divas botch about 4 times each in their 30 second matches.  Can you imagine how many we’ll see if they have a whole five minutes and three out of the four can’t wrestle a lick?  It’s going to be botchtastic.  Faces win.  We lose.

Justice’s WrestleMania 28 Predictions:

Wrestlemania time is upon us once again. I first have to say how proud I am as a big Ring of Honor fan that the 2 Heavyweight Champions going into Wrestlemania are ROH alums. Now, on to the big show (no pun intended)!

Divas tag team Match: Beth Phoenix (c) & Eve vs. Kelly Kelly and Maria Meneudos- there is no helping the divas division and this is the absolute lowest of the low, a celebrity in a match. The team with the double initials get the win here bit hopefully the story of the match is an apperance from Kharma who starts planting seeds for her feud with Beth.
Winners: Kelly Kelly and Maria Meneudos

Randy Orton vs. Kane: a singles match to just give these guys something to do it seems. Look for Orton to stay strong on the roll he’s been on since forever and get the win.
Winner: Randy Orton

Intercontinental Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show: this will be an interesting match to see how its booked. Cody needs to look strong if this is a catylist to a main even push but id Show loses, he looks extremely weak. I would love to see Cody get 2 big Wrestlemania wins in a row, but I have a feeling Big Show wins.
Winner and new Intercontinental Champion- Big Show

12 man tag team match for GM: Team Long (U.S. Champion Santino Marella (captain), Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder, R-Truth, Great Khali and Booker T.) W/ Hornswaggle Vs. Team Laurinitis (David Otunga (captain), Mark Henry, Drew McIntyre, the Miz, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger w/ Vickie Guererro: Wow, that’s an insane amount of wasted talent. 5 former World Heavyweight Champions, 1 former WWE champion, and all the rest of the guys have had at least a US or Intercontinental title run with the exception of Otunga who has had multiple tag title runs. What a waste match with crappy build. But if done right, it could be entertaining. Damn, I wish Wade Barrett didn’t get hurt.
Winners: team Laurinitis

Hell in a Cell: Triple H vs. Undertaker- Special Guest Ref: Shawn Michaels: I am not excited about this match at all for some reason even though I know it has the potential to be a show stealer. Something about HBK and Triple H having a match next year at Wrestlemania abd this being the set-up for it pisses me off. The Cell adds a dimention to. The match and it will be interesting to see HBK’s roll in the match.
Winner: Undertaker

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus- If this match gets time and can be booked correctly, this could actually be a good match. Sheamus is on a roll right now and Daniel Bryan is a great heel. The contrast in styles should make for a great match.
Winner and New World Heavyweight Champion: Sheamus

WWE Championship Mtch: CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho- this will indeed be the best match of the night and WWE would be stupid to open the show with it because it will outshine every other match on the card. Although I personally don’t like the build up as I feel that these two men could have ripped into eachother with some of the best promos of the year, the fact is the CM Punk feels that he has to make this the best match of his career. Jericho and Punk will put on a clinic and regardless of the outcome, will steal the show.
Winner and new WWE Champion: Chris Jericho

The Rock vs John Cena: a clash of the titans. I’ll make it short and sweet. The Rock and Cena better “bring it” if they want to be remembered years from now as the real main event of this Wrestlemania. A Hell in a Cell match, 2 World title matches and some big moments will be hard to topple this year. These two guys have torn into eachother and this is the culmination of a year long feud. Let’s hope they make it worth the wait.
Winner: take your pick, this isn’t over between them but both men will come out looking like a million bucks. Gun to my head, i’d go with Cena. He needs it more.
