Tom Cruise to be in Star Trek?

Wha-wha-what?!?!?!

from cinescape.com:

According to WENN, Tom Cruise is in negotiations to play a cameo role in the upcoming J.J. Abrams STAR TREK film. Cruise and Abrams recently teamed together for MI3.

It’s not known what role Cruise might play, but a Starfleet Academy instructor seems to be a likely choice.

According to other reports, Abrams is currently auditioning actors for the roles of a young Scotty and young Bones in the film.

This would be odd, but I welcome it.

  1. I don’t think Tom Cruise should be considered washed up. He’s still making millions and he’s still making great movies. His actions off screen are questionable, but he’s not some 80’s star trying to make a comeback…he never left (again, that could be a questionable comment…)…

  2. yes and no, Star Trek has seen better years. Its kind of in transition right now…its still popular but there aren’t as many people clamoring for more Trek movies or TV shows…
