At a special screening for “Apocalypto” the other week, Mel Gibson spoke with several outlets (yours truly was invited but couldn’t make it) including IESB and confirmed that despite all the talk, he won’t be involved in any further “Mad Max” or “Lethal Weapon” sequels.

In regards to Max – “They were talking about making one, I think you just watched it [referring to Apocalypto] (laughter) but, you know, I don’t know. I’m gettin’ a little long in the tooth for that one”

As for Weapon – “Oh no, I don’t want to go there again…oh boy was that done to death. I just want to do things that really give me a kick”.

His upcoming projects include “Sam and George” a film in which he will star as well as produce, “Tree of Life” starring alongside Colin Farrell and a starring role in “Under and Alone”.

DAMN! I wanted at least another Lethal Weapon movie!
